Metallica, Bring Me The Horizon and Slipknot headline a remarkable year for the UK’s biggest rock festival. Download Festival’s 20th anniversary has become a double celebration, as today the festival sells out, marking 2023 as the fastest-selling year of all time. Day, weekend and camping tickets have been snapped up by fans eager to celebrate an incredible 20 years for the legendary festival. The special anniversary edition, taking place for the first time over four days on 8-11 June 2023 at Donington Park, will feature headliners Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot and Metallica, who will perform two headline sets with no repeat songs.

Newly added to the festival are Halestorm, Neck Deep, Hot Milk, Alter Bridge, Bob Vylan, Electric Callboy, Carcass, Five Finger Death Punch, Palaye Royale, Jinjer, and many more. The Hu Shares a Music Video “This Is Mongol (Warrior Souls)” ft. William DuVall of Alice In Chains


 

Mongolian rock sensation and UNESCO “Artist For Peace” ambassadors – THE HU have shared a new version of their 2022 groundbreaking single “This Is Mongol.” With featured guest vocalist/guitarist William DuVall of Alice In Chains now appearing on the updated track, “This Is Mongol (Warrior Souls)” further highlights the song’s original message of promoting Mongolian culture and empowering environmental awareness by adding English-translated lyrics, sung by DuVall—who also produced and mixed the single–and an unforgettable chanting chorus: “Hey, We are warrior souls, rolling like a river of fire / We are warrior souls, running down the dragon to slay / This is our way (This is our way).” These themes are seen throughout the “This Is Mongol (Warrior Souls)” music video which also premiered today. The video was co-directed by Michael Lombardi, co-producer and lead actor of The Retaliators–the 2022 horror-thriller in which members of THE HU appeared and whose soundtrack included music from the band’s discography—and includes an exclusive sneak peek of the film which is out now on Blu-Ray via Better Noise Films.

The HU is The First-Ever Rock or Metal Group to Become a Unesco “Artist For Peace”


 

Globally acclaimed breakthrough Mongolian rock act THE HU are honored to announce they’ve been named UNESCO’s “Artist For Peace” at a ceremony earlier today (November 25) at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris, FR by UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay. They are the first-ever artist in the rock/metal genre to receive this prestigious designation and follow previous “Artist for Peace” recipients including Celine Dion, Shirley Bassey, Sarah Brightman, Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller and World Orchestra For Peace. Having met the band on her official visit to Mongolia this past August, Azoulay has acknowledged THE HU’s contribution to the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage and their support for the promotion of cultural diversity through music; these are qualities which resonate with UNESCO’s values and work.

CONCERT REVIEW: Five Finger Death Punch – Megadeth – The HU – Fire From The Gods Live at Xfinity Center


 

Five Finger Death Punch last performed in Massachusetts in 2018 and it was long overdue for their return, tonight at the Xfinity Center. Supporting their latest record Afterlife (Better Noise Music), the band brought a huge, full-stage production, as they usually do. The set list was full of fan favorites. The HU – Rumble of Thunder (Better Noise)

The HU and their joyful rock laced with Mongolian folk condiments rode into our collective consciences with 2019’s brilliant The Gereg, establishing themselves immediately by managing to produce something new, yet simultaneously neither novelty nor cheesy despite its requisite ingredients. A skilful piece of musical chef-ery indeed. Second time around, the HU have sought to refine things a little, less bold in some of their choices, yet with an eye on producing something more palatable to more people now that the attention has been piqued.Continue reading
