ALBUM REVIEW: Detherous – Unrelenting Malevolence


 

Detherous is quickly becoming a band to pay attention to. Their 2019 debut, Hacked to Death was a balls-to-the-wall thrasher with a killer Kreator-meets-Death sound that easily put the band on many playlists. The Canadian band’s follow-up solidifies the group’s thrash meets death metal style with more unrelenting riffs, bombastic drums, and savage vocals that invoke the great Chuck Schuldiner.

Alcest Adds London Date to Tour with Birds In Row and Kælan Mikla

Alcest previously announced March 2020 tour dates in support of their recent album Spiritual Healing (Nuclear Blast Records). will hit the road again, in support of their new studio album Spiritual Instinct, that saw the light of day last month. The band has now added a London show date to the UK leg, set to take place on March 4th at Heaven. Undead Prophecies – Sempiternal Void


I’m beginning to notice a bit of a trend amongst modern Death Metal bands, and by beginning to notice I mean this has probably been happening for a while now. Loads of newer acts like Horrendous and Gruesome are quite eager to strap on the Nike high tops, leather jackets and reminisce about the good old days when guys like Chuck Schuldiner and his outfit Death were blowing the Thrash dudes out of the water with albums like Scream Bloody Gore or Spiritual Healing.
