On The Road with.. Revocation and Black Crown Initiate

revocation at the mid east nite club

Revocation recently undertook a short headline tour of clubs in the US. Touring almost non-top since the release of last year’s Deathless (Metal Blade) album with are plethora of different bands. The band has been remarkably consistent as a live band throughout there career and shows in their hometown of Boston have been the stuff of legend. Joined on this night by Black Crown Initiate, themselves hardcore road warriors of late and locals Sexcrement and Coagula at the famed Middle East Night Club for a fun night of metal. Check out these photos by Evil Robb Photography, who caught the wild Dave Davidson of Revocation, in his natural habitat, on stage shredding.

Machine Head Announce An Evening With Headline Tour This Winter

an eveneing with machine head

The kings of the American metal scene, Machine Head will embark upon a headline tour in the format of “An Evening With”. The tour is focused on smaller venues and no national openers. The band has done the evening with format occasionally in their career, always favoring fan favorite songs and deep cuts. This tour follows the recent announcement the band would play no arena tours, no headline festivals or similar fests for the entire album and tour cycle of the just released Bloodstone and Diamonds (Nuclear Blast).

Official Press Release:

Bay Area Metal Titans Machine Head will headline an exclusive tour starting this January, which will span all across North America! No support bands. No locals. Just a crushing two-hour set of pure fucking MACHINE HEAD!!!

“We’re doing ‘An Evening With’ MACHINE HEAD. Meaning: it’ll just be us, folks,” commented guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn. “We are really excited about the idea, playing longer sets, throwing in some deep cuts, and just having our own world. Promoters in the US seem really stoked about it, some have said it feels like ‘an event’.”

In regards to the band’s decision to only headline for this touring cycle as well as no longer play festivals, Flynn elaborates:

“We’re not trying to have a good time with a bunch of people who don’t know who we are. If Machine Headthrows a party, big or small, we don’t want a bunch of ‘strangers’ there. This is about us and you guys, the die-hards! The Fucking Undesirables! We don’t care about the others out there. We’re here and we’re not going anywhere, if those people want to be a part of this, they know where to find us. So for the time being, and maybe ‘forever’ we’re done reaching out for them.”

V.I.P. ticket packages are now on sale at machinehead.soundrink.com! Packages include a meet and greet with the band, group photo with MACHINE HEAD, poster, flag, laminate, and Machine Headkoozie. In addition, everyone that purchases the VIP experience will be entered in a drawing to win an autographed Bloodstone & Diamonds electric guitar!

Machine Head Announce Fall Headline Tour of North America

image006

As Machine Head puts the finishing touches on their highly anticipated new album, their first for Nuclear Blast Entertainment, the band has announced a 21 city, headline tour of the North America this fall.

A terrific lineup comprised of the modern kings of Bay Area thrash as headliners, with Children of Bodom, Epica and Battlecross in tow promises to be a fine show with a little something for fans of different styles of metal.

Rob Flynn of Machine Head commented about the tour in a press release:

Machine Head raised the bar with concert production for 2012 ‘s ‘Locust’ tour, and now we plan to raise the bar again with our biggest US show yet, and the strongest line-up out there for 2014, PERIOD! This is a MUST SEE event for any heavy metal fan in America! I am stoked that we were able to join up with our friends in Children Of Bodom, one of the premier power metal bands of our time, and our friends in Battlecross, who we toured with on Mayhem last year, and are going to bring the old-school thrash vibe. Epica’s symphonic metal will add a touch of much needed class to the drunken shenanigans that will surely take place on this raucous tour. Come out and be a part of history ladies and gentlemen!”

King Diamond Announces Headline Tour This Fall

King diamond fall us tour

Metal legend King Diamond has announced his comeback headline tour of the USA, this fall. The full US tour, with full production promises to be the proper King Diamond live presentation fans stateside have been clamoring for. Joining him will be longtime band members Andy LaRocque, Mike Wead, Hal Patino, and Matt Thompson, making this a must see tour.

For the uninitiated (or just the un-metal) King Diamond was a legend before he ever went solo, leaving Mercyful Fate in 1985. Building on Don’t Break the Oath’s success, King has put out countless amazing albums, especially his first four: Fatal Portrait, Abigail, Them and Conspiracy; which still hold up well today despite being 25-30 years old.

Abigail_(King_Diamond_album)

King Diamond is an inspiration musically and aesthetically for two generations of metal bands, as well as being a pop culture figure as well (Clerks II, Dethklok). Best by injury and illness, save for an occasional festival appearance, this is the first full-scale tour KD has done in nearly a decade. Surely this announcement will stoke the fires for his long in the works new album, and eventually a Mercyful Fate reunion tour in the future.

The pre-sale started today here and the full sale is this Friday, 6/27. The tour includes stops at the annual Rock & Shock Festival and the Fun Fun Fun Fest.
