CONCERT REVIEW: Doyle Live at The Whisky A-Go-Go


 

Doyle made his annual return to The Whisky for two blistering nights of horror and heavy tunes. There’s always something special in the air when Doyle comes to the iconic venue. You can practically taste the crowd’s hunger for nostalgia and making new memories with the titan of horror punk and metal. The crowd was filled with an abundance of younger fans, which was a pleasant surprise. Like many of us old-school fans, the question of who will carry the torch of the scene is always everpresent. But that question was surely answered by the throng of teenagers getting into the pit and screaming along with every word. Alongside the young hellions was a decent number of hardcore fans who had made the drive from all over the country to be in attendance. Seeing that dedication and hearing their stories of how Doyle’s music has influenced their lives was remarkable and reassuring that this music and scene will never die.Continue reading


“Punk Rock Vegan Movie” – Written and Directed By Moby is Streaming Online for Free


 

Punk Rock Vegan Movie, a new documentary written and directed by Moby, is out now and streaming for free on all platforms! The film debuted at the 2023 Slamdance Film Festival and also was featured at the prestigious San Francisco Indie Film Festival this month. The film, which is Moby’s directorial debut, is a passionate and stylistically idiosyncratic look at the ongoing relationship between the worlds of punk rock and animal rights. It includes interviews with some of the biggest names in punk and rock history, like Ian Mackaye, HR, Dave Navarro, Ray Cappo, Andrew Hurley, Tony Kanal, Tim McIlrath, Water Schreifels, Dave Dictor, Derrick Green, Steve Ignorant, Theo Kogan, Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, Amy Lee, and Captain Sensible.

The Misfits Have Been Forced to Cancel Their Planned Headline Show on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas


Misfits whave been forced to cancel their highly-anticpated New Year’s Eve arena concert December 31st at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. They revealed this in a post to Instagram, sharing the cancelation is due to an unexpected personal matter, also expressiing regret and letting fans know they have plans to perform in 2023. The current lineup includes Glenn Danzig and original bassist Jerry Only with Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein on guitar, were set to be joined at the New Year’s Eve gig special guests Circle Jerks and Tiger Army. Glenn Danzig Says The Misfits Have Discussed a New Live Album


In a new interview with Rolling Stone (link below), Glenn Danzig says “The Original Misfits” that have reunited and toured since 2016 have discussed a new live recording, according to Blabbermouth.net. When asked about the prospect of new Misfits music he responded: “Not right now. I know we have a show we have to do on May 4th, some festivals we’re headlining (the since canceled Domination Fest). But that’s it for a while, especially since Danzig’s going out this year.” Asked if he has thought about trying to do a live Misfits release or recording something, Glenn said: “Yeah, we’ll see. It’s something we’ve talked about.”

Original Misfits have now officially announced they will perform October 19th at “The World’s Most Famous Arena”, Madison Square Garden. Featuring Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only with Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein on guitar, the band will bring their legendary show and songs to the Garden, site of some of the most famous concerts ever by bands such as Led Zeppelin, Metallica, KISS, Slayer, Billy Joel and more.
