EXCLUSIVE STREAM: Domkraft Streams New EP – “Slow Fidelity”

Ghost Cult is proud to present the brand new EP from psychedelic Doom Metal legends Domkraft, Slow Fidelity, out tomorrow via Blues Funeral Recordings. The band joins fellow Stoner and Doom luminaries in the Post Wax series such as Elder, Spotlights, Lowrider and more. The three-song EP is pure Domkraft: patient, righteously grooving, and heavy as all hell. In addition, these great new songs feature the ponderous final track ‘This Is Where We Part Ways’. With its hypnotic vibe and contributions from three heavy music masters; guest vocal contributions from Mark Lanegan Lea Alazam of Besvarjelsen and Marty of Slomatics, you get a mammoth tune. This is one of the most essential releases in the genre this year. Domkraft is fresh off of their star turn at the Magnetic Eye Records’ “Day of Doom” showcase at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, one of many highlight performances that night. Purchase and stream the EP right now, exclusively at Ghost Cult! Continue reading

Various Artists – The Wall Redux

Like the noble slice of pizza, a cover song, if done well, can be amazing. And if it’s not, it’s still pretty good. It’s tough to cover well-known songs and albums by famous bands because music becomes our lexicon and fans know every little nook and cranny of a track. This is the case with Pink Floyd and their iconic double album The Wall. Luckily Magnetic Eye Records and their incredible “Redux” series is here, and they always do a bang-up job of assembling the talent. Covering the entirety of The Wall seems both ambitious and a little crazy too. While The Wall is lower on my personal list of Floyd favorites, it’s as important as it is beloved by the masses. Domkraft – Flood

Here are some tips on how best to enjoy Domkraft’s Flood (Blues Funeral). If you have some rich Kush lying about then you may partake. It’s not essential, but I find it to be of great assistance. The following items, however, are vital. Find the comfiest chair in your apartment, an Acapulco shirt and a decent set of headphones. Don’t say I never did anything for you.Continue reading

Psycho Las Vegas 2017: Live At the Hard Rock Hotel And Casino, Las Vegas

Before you sink your teeth into this, let me make a quick disclaimer for those of you looking for a standard review. This ain’t it. If you want to read, ad nauseam, about each band that played, who was good, who wasn’t, what songs they played or how many bands are “female fronted,” have female members or where any of these bands are from I can guarantee you a quick internet search will get you your fix somewhere. If you are looking for someone to tell you what any of the bands sound like, look like or act like then here is a novel idea, buy their music, go to a show and form an opinion for yourself. No offense intended to anyone writing something like that or looking for that kind of thing but you won’t find it here because I don’t feel like writing something everyone else has or will. (Offense intended to anyone still finding some ridiculous need to write or read about bands being “female fronted.” Fuck off.)

Oh, also there will be naughty words.Continue reading
