Slipknot has announced limited quantities of the 2019 batch of No. 9 Reserve Whiskey for sale this weekend. The bundles went on sale last night, on Thanksgiving, at 8 pm EST/5 pm PST, these special edition bundles arrive via their sales partner CraftShack. This is the last chance to get the No. 9 Reserve before the holidays. Slipknot released its very own craft spirit, Slipknot No. 9 Iowa Whiskey, this past August. The band collaborated with Iowa-based Cedar Ridge Distillery, which was awarded Distillery of The Year in 2017 (American Distilling Institute), to produce the No. 9 and No. 9 Reserve Iowa Whiskeys. Made with corn from the Cedar Ridge farm in Winthrop, Iowa, these whiskeys celebrate the band’s own Iowa roots. The release included bottle signings along the Slipknot headlined Knotfest Roadshow, leading to sell-outs across the country.Continue reading
Giving Tuesday is the annual day following the consumer obsession of Black Friday that focuses on charity and supporting non-profits. It has been a year of giving back for Metallica with the formation of their All Within My Hands charity with concerts, donating proceed from shows at every show to a local charity, a day of services and all kinds of special auctions of merch. Now for Giving Tuesday Metallica is releasing their recent Helping Hands Benefit Concert, on limited-edition, 140g colored vinyl mixed by Greg Fidelman (Slayer). The Met Store is also releasing a limited-edition etched glass featuring the iconic Pushead artwork for “One,” as a glass etching available on Tuesday at 1 PM PST. Proceeds from the sale of both items will be donated directly to AWMH and will be used to support communities in need, primarily in the areas of workforce education and the fight against hunger. Anthrax has dropped a new single at rock radio for their acoustic rendition of their recent album track ‘Breathing Lightning’. In support of Black Friday’s Record Store Day (November 25), Anthrax will release a limited-edition 7-inch single Monster At The End pressed onto lilac and gold spatter vinyl (Megaforce) for the tracks ‘Monster At The End” and ‘Vice of the People’. Through a post on their website, Metallica has put out a call to fans for to crowdsource materials including old photos, audio and videos from the Kill `Em All (Megaforce) and Ride the Lightning (Elektra) era’s of the band. The materials will be used for anticipated deluxe remastered re-issues of those two thrash masterpieces covering the early part of the bands history from 1982-1984. People who think they can help can email into email@example.com
they did the same thing for a future Master of Puppets re-issue also due next year. Metallica is known to be one of the champion archivists of their own history and materials, as seen through a plethora of past releases, exclusive fan merch, the Metallica XXX -30th Anniversary Concerts, and many books; so call upon fans to provide new, unseen materials is curious, but cool.
There isn’t much of a disclaimer or legalese in the post, but submitting materials into the band likely means they have full use and ownership of them so think before sending any priceless mementos into the band.
The band is still working on the follow-up to 2009’s Death Magnetic, but has a busy end of the year line-up with a ‘Lords of Summer’ Record Store Day Black Friday single release, a performance at Blizz Con, and a week long residency on the Late Show With Craig Ferguson.
