EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Beyond Forgiveness – “Dream Before I Sleep” – (Vocal Sing-Through)

Colorado Springs Symphonic Metal band Beyond Forgiveness has been on our radar for a while! Originally formed as a studio project as well as working through finding the perfect line-up, the band released their first EP, “The Ferryman’s Shore.” Featuring new singer Talia Hoit, the album was well received and the bands’ star is again rising! Reformed in 2014 by original guitarists Richard Marcus and Greg Witwer, the band is known for their creative songcraft featuring classical orchestras, choirs, and operatic vocals with hint of folk, colliding with extreme elements found in death metal and black metal which some have labeled as “Beautality.” In  2019, the band released their second full-length album, Live to Tell the Story (Sliptrick Records). Black Sabbath Bassist Geezer Butler to Release Solo Material Boxset: “Manipulations Of The Mind” Boxset

Legendary Black Sabbath bassist and lyricist Terry “Geezer” Butler will released a 4-cd boxed set of his classic solo albums, along with an extra disc of rare material. The releases are also compiled in a best of release as well. Manipulations Of The Mind  and The Very Best Of Geezer Butler will be released July 30th via BMG! Featuring the albums ‘Plastic Planet’ (1995), ‘Black Science’ (1997), and ‘Ohmwork’ (2005), with a bonus 4th disc of rare and largely unreleased material, ‘Manipulations Of The Mind’ will give fans a true insight into Geezer’s work outside the Sabbath context in that classic solo era. Watch Anthrax Discuss “Sound of White Noise” and the John Bush Era in Episode #18 of Their Web Series

ALBUM REVIEW: Grief Collector – En Delirium

In contrast to the darker doom path that Grief Collector established with 2019’s From Dissension To Avowal, their first proper full-length shows more direct connections to singer Robert Lowe’s past projects. ‘Corridors’ opens En Delirium (Petrichor Records) in a similar fashion that ‘Falling’ started off Solitude Aeturnus’s Through The Darkest Hour, featuring a catchy Grunge groove and lofty vocal lines. There are even some Classic Metal touches comparable to the most recent Tyrant album on ‘Our Poisonous Ways’ and ‘The Letting Go.’

Limp Bizkit Books Headline Tour, Spiritbox to Open

Nu-Metal bosses Limp Bizkit have announced a headline tour of the USA this summer. Spirtitbox will provide direct support on all dates.The tour will kick off on July 29 in Chicago and wrap up on August 24 in Los Angeles. Pre-sale will begin tomorrow (Wednesday, June 23), with tickets going on sale to the general public on June 25. Limp Bizkit has long promised a new album they are inpprogreees on, but has instead toured constantly. Spiritbox will release their album Eternal Blue via Rise Records, September 17th.

EP REVIEW: Crobot  – Rat Child

June 2021 sees the return of the beardos in Crobot with their latest EP Rat Child (Mascot Label Group), a mix of pieces that could have appeared on Motherbrain in an alternate universe and products of the pandemic and long distance friendships. You’re lucky if I bother to actually put on pants, much less try to engage in any kind of creative endeavor over Zoom/Skype/smoke signal so I have to give credit where credit is due.
