Sacramento’s Channel 24 was pushed to its absolute structural limits on the night of February 22, 2026. While the venue has seen its share of high-energy performances since opening its doors, the arrival of the “Last Will and Testament” tour felt less like a standard concert and more like a visceral, sonic beating. By the time the house lights dimmed, the 2,150-capacity room was nearly at its breaking point—a sweltering, shoulder-to-shoulder mass of bodies that testified to the enduring pull of the Swedish progressive vanguard. CONCERT REVIEW: Judas Priest – Alice Cooper – Corrosion of Conformity Live At The Toyota Amphitheatre

Wheatland, California’s Toyota Amphitheatre is my new favorite outdoor venue. Although this was supposed to be the final bombastic concert of the season, the three-headed beast featuring special guests Corrosion of Conformity (COC), and Co-Headliners Alice Cooper and Judas Priest didn’t deter them from bashing the stage! No doubt, desert rock and classic metal would blend in glorious fashion, I could not wait to capture the evening. The crowd featured mostly classic metal heads, but there were some solid younglings that feasted on what the marquee had on the menu!

CONCERT REVIEW: Primus – Live at Channel 24

Sacramento’s newest venue, Channel 24, had eluded me until the final two nights of Primus’s Onward & Upward Tour came to town… What a great and rare experience! The intimate venue is mostly GA, except for a small number of seats that populate the second and third levels of the balcony area. What you got was a rare up-close and personal show of one of the most influential nineties Indie/Alt Rock bands still touring. The trio consists of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde, and this tour features the newly acquired drummer John Hoffman, the “Chosen One,” from over 6000 applicants from around the world!  Continue reading →
