Blind Idiot God – Release A Video For Their Track Rollercoster, New Album In The Works

Reactivated legends Blind Idiot God have shared a video for their track ‘Rollercoster’, from their cult classic 1989 album Undertow, reissued recently via Indivisible Music. The band is heading into the studio soon to make their long-awaited fifth album, due out later in 2018.

Blind Idiot God founder Andy Hawkins commented:

“The footage is from Hanover Germany 1989, opening for Psychic TV. Genesis P. Orridge complimented us afterwards on our brand of instrumental music, then asked if he could whip the back of my leather jacket which I was wearing back stage. I indulged him in a mock BDSM display and a good time was had by all.”

Produced by Bill Laswell at the tail end of the 1980’s, Undertow has become a beloved underground must have album from that time. The reissue featured bonus material including their collaboration with John Zorn (saxophone), Purged Specimen, and a remix of their hard driving collaboration with Henry Rollins for the title track of the movie Freaked (directed by Alex Winter) – the only Blind Idiot God track featuring a vocalist to date.
