Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Pantera) Books The Inaugural Berzerkus Festival with Cody Jinks, BLS, Clutch, Rival Sons, Black Stone Cherry, and More


Legendary guitarist Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne, Pantera) has announced his inaugural Berzerkus Festival, set to take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Poconos Park in Bushkill, Pennsylvania. Berzerkus will be co-headlined by outlaw country music’s Cody Jinks and Black Label Society. Berzerkers will rock out to an incredible festival lineup that will also include Clutch, Rival Sons, Black Stone Cherry, Zoso (the ultimate Led Zeppelin experience), Atomic Punks (a tribute to early Van Halen) and The Iron Maidens (the world’s only all-female tribute to Iron Maiden). Early Bird presale tickets go on sale Thursday, February 1 at 8 a.m. Eastern exclusively available to those who register through Berzerkus.com. Registrants will receive early access to get the best seats or the limited quantity of Early Bird General Admission lawn tickets for only $19.99 (plus fees) before the price increases to Tier 2 or Tier 3 pricing. Zakk Wylde Wasn’t The Only Choice Considered for The Pantera Reunion, According to Producer and Guitar Tech Sterling Winfield


Already off to a flying start, the return of Pantera has been a hot target of attention and controversy. The band performed their first tour dates in 21 years in Mexico and South America. Many consider Zakk Wylde and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante have been considered by many to be the obvious choices to stand in for to fill Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul’s shoes in this tribute tour. Charlie Benante has gone on record to say new music under the Pantera banner is a possiblitiy. At the same time many others have said this is blasephemous to tour as “Pantera.” In a new interview with Reckless Rock Radio 89.3 KNON FM, transcribed by Blabbermouth.net, longtime producer, a guitar tech, and best friend to Dime and Vinny, Sterling Winfield suggested that Zakk was just one of many guitarists considered. Japan’s Loud Park Festival 2023 Announces Pantera as Their Headliner


The new lineup of Pantera (Philip Anselmo, Rex Brown, Zakk Wylde, and Charlie Benante) has been booked as the headliner of the 2023 “comeback” edition of Japan’s Loud Park festival. The two-day “limited” event will take place on March 25 at Intex Osaka in Osaka and March 26 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City near Tokyo.

Watch Pantera Perform For the First Time in 21 Years at Mexico’s Hell and Heaven Festival


 

The reformed version of Pantera (Phil Anselmo, Rex Brown, with Zakk Wylde on guitar and Anthrax’s Charlie Benante on drums) performed tonight as one of headlining bands at Mexico’s Hell and Heaven Fest in Toluca, MX. Tonight was the start of a multi-continent world tour expected to last at least into 2024, including three dates at Slipknot’s Knotfest events in South America this month, 10 dates in Europe and opening for Metallica. The band played a selection of tracks spanning their albums from 1991 – 2000. The stage set up was slightly reminiscent of The band’s tour for the Reinventing The Steel album (Elektra Records, 2000), while a giant video screen showed Pantera’s official music videos, clips from The Pantera “Home Video” series, and paid tribute to Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell Abbott. In a post to social media today, one day before the return of Pantera as a touring band, the estate of the late Vinnie Paul has issued a statement in support of the reformed band’s upcoming shows but it says don’t refer to this tour as a “reunion.” Pantera’s social media accounts have started sharing content ahead of the shows starting this weekend in Mexico, the first under the band’s banner in 21 years and the first without co-founding brothers Vinnie and Dimebag Darrell Abbott.
