CONCERT REVIEW: Periphery – Plini – Archspire – Astronoid – Mike Dawes Live at The Worcester Palladium

Flying waffles, Backstreet Boys covers, local post-metal idols, games of Twister during a wall of death, rants about cereal and coffee, transcendent guitar wizardry that took me to space, and some of the most passionate and crowd involved djent/metalcore ever written. Are you still with me? Good. Because god damn, was the final night of the Wildfire Tour with Periphery, Plini, Archspire, Astronoid, and Mike Dawes a wild night at the Worcester Palladium. There’s a lot going on here so let’s get down to brass tacks…Continue reading

CONCERT REVIEW: Helloween – Hammerfall Live at The Worcester Palladium

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this show for months since its announcement. Helloween and Hammerfall: two staples of the Power Metal movement invaded the Worcester Palladium on a warm clear night. ALBUM REVIEW: Killswitch Engage – Live At The Palladium

An interesting release from Killswitch Engage, metalcore royalty who at the beginning of 2020 had just commenced touring their latest album Atonement. But found themselves heading home as the pandemic struck, licking their wounds and unable to take one of their strongest records out on the road, for shows that included support from former vocalist Howard Jones’s band Light The Torch; Atonement featuring the crushing track (‘The Signal Fire’) which saw Jones trading vocals with current (and original) singer Jesse Leach, and the tour providing the perfect opportunity for both frontmen to hit the stage together. CONCERT REVIEW: Dragonforce – Firewind – Visions of Atlantis – Seven Spires: Live at Worcester Palladium

October 9th, 2009. That was the last time I saw Dragonforce live, with Sonata Arctica and Taking Dawn so needless to say, I was very excited for this show… in the same venue as last time, no less! Added only to the fact that this tour has been on the minds of everyone that originally planned to see it last year when Unleash The Archers were on the bill, but we now have Firewind, Visions of Atlantis, and New England based titans Seven Spires to look forward to. Let’s stop wasting time and get into this symphonic and power-metal night of fun.

CONCERT REVIEW: Shadows Fall – Unearth – Darkest Hour – Within The Ruins – Sworn Enemy – Carnivora: Live at The Worcester Palladium

I pull up to the parking lot of the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. It’s been two years and a couple of months since the last time I was at one of these things. One 40 ounce of malt liquor is disposed of while sitting in a warm car as ice and rain pounds away on the roof. Must make my way inside and show no weakness. My body has been in a state of mosh retirement for too long and there’s no telling how I’ll fare in a sea of savage longhairs.Continue reading
