Roadburn Announces Tom G. Warrior’s Celtic Frost/Triptykon Requiem For 2019

In a stunning announcement former Roadburn artist and curator Thomas Gabriel Fischer, a.k.a. Tom G. Warrior will mark his return to Roadburn in 2019 with a full performance of Celtic Frost/Triptykon Requiem on Friday, April 12. The three-part Requiem comes complete with orchestral accompaniment via Dutch Metropole Orkest! More details below. The first part of the three-part Requiem appeared on Celtic Frost’s Into The Pandemonium and was titled Rex Irae. The third part, titled Winter was brought to life on the Celtic Frost album Monotheist in 2006, and until now, the missing second part has remained incomplete. Continue reading →

Cave In, Old Man Gloom, Thou, Daughters Booked For Roadburn 2019

Roadburn Festival 2019 has expanded with more bands and named their Artist In Residence. Cave In, Old Man Gloom, Thou (artist in residence), Daughters, Henrik Palm (as part of Tomas Linberg’s special curation of the fest), Drab Majesty, Ulcerate, Imperial Triumphant (full Vile Majesty live performance), Gold, Wolvenst with special guests, Messa, and Mord’a’stigmata. Have your earplugs at the ready and put your day job put on hold, because the day we marked on our calendar 366 days ago has finally arrived. In the vibrant and ever-changing Dutch city of Tilburg, an influx of heavy music fans from all over the world are taking over the town as Roadburn Festival is ready to kick off. A couple of thousand people will spend their weekend sauntering between five magnificent stages, from the cushy cafes of Cul de Sac and Extase, to the wooden beams and stained glass windows of Het Patronaat and the two fabulous stages of music venue 013: the 3000-capacity monster main stage and it’s little quarter capacity brother The Green Room. Desertfest Belgium Part I: Live At Trix, Antwerp

Desertfest is an ever-expanding, sprawling franchise festival, having pushed it’s tentacles out from London to Berlin, Antwerp and even Athens. As Ghost Cult did last year, we went to Desertfest Antwerp again, about the only October festival in the genre of stoner and doom music.
