ALBUM REVIEW: Epica – Omega


It should come as a surprise to no-one that Omega (Nuclear Blast), the eighth full-length studio release from Dutch symphonic metal act Epica, is another concept-driven album. Formed in 2002, the band are widely known for their ambitious ideas and themes, covering everything from the Mayan civilization to religion, nature, quantum physics and the possibility that the universe is actually digitally created hologram. ALBUM REVIEW: Sirenia – Riddles, Ruins & Revelations


 

Returning with their tenth full-length album, Norwegian symphonic Gothic act Sirenia continues both the good work and the alliteration of their last couple of studio outings with their latest release Riddles, Ruins & Revelations (Napalm Records). Operatic vocals, a robust rhythm section, pounding riffs and flighty keyboards dominate proceedings, punctuated by some expert lead guitar work and differing vocal styles. Adorned with thunderous breakdowns or quieter, slower sections each cut remains interesting rather than outstaying its welcome.

Saint Asonia Release “Flawed Design” Deluxe Edition with Two New Singles


Rock supergroup Saint Asonia, featuring former Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier and Staind guitarist/founding member Mike Mushok, have released the deluxe edition of 2019’s Flawed Design album. The album features guest appearances from Sully Erna of Godsmack, and Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation. The new version features two additional songs, which were the bonus tracks of the original album and not widely released: “Say Goodbye” and “Weak & Tired” which you can hear right now. Evanescence Announces Livestream Event Next Month


Symphonic rockers Evanescence has booked a livestream concert event for December 5th at 1pm PT, 4pm ET, 9pm UK and 10pm CET. ! The band is slated to perform both new and old songs, tickets for Evanescence: A Live Session From Rock Falcon Studio are available now at the link below. The livestream will be available through Tuesday, December 8 at 11:59pm ET. The band was forced to cancel their world tour dates, including a co-headline tour with peers and legends Within Temptation safely assembled from Nashville, Sacramento, and Germany to perform live renditions of songs from their upcoming album The Bitter Truth for the first time, as well as some fan favorites and a few can’t miss surprises. Within Temptation to Stream Iconic “Black Symphony” Concert This Week


Within Temptation will stream their first arena show with orchestra on social media: watch Black Symphony live at Rotterdam’s Ahoy Arena on Thursday, April 30, at 7.30 PM UK time, on the band’s Facebook, YouTube or Twitch channel. For the first time in their career, Within Temptation bundled their strength with the Metropole Orchestra (led by Jules Buckley) and a 20-voice classical choir, lifting the band’s fast-driven and bombastic tracks to an even higher level. Within Temptation performed the spectacular show on February 7 2008 to 10.000 fans, surprising them with appearances by special guests Mina Caputo (Life Of Agony), Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gathering) and George Oosthoek (Orphanage) while covering every hit from their discography up to 2008, including Mother Earth, Stand My Ground and All I Need.
