The On the Road Again program will continue rolling out extra support to every artist playing shows at Live Nation’s clubs through 2024. Launched last fall with the legendary Willie Nelson, On the Road Again helps developing artists on tour and recognizes crews working tirelessly behind the scenes. For every show played in an On The Road Again venue, each headliner and support act receives $1,500 in gas and travel cash on top of nightly performance compensation. Additionally, artists keep 100% of merch profits as On the Road Again clubs do not charge merchandise selling fees.Continue reading


Live Nation Partners with Willie Nelson for “On The Road Again” Initiative to Reduce Merch Cuts and Pay Venue Staff More in 2023


Live Nation has announced it will no longer take cuts of merchandise sold by artists playing any of its club-sized venues. This is only through the end of 2023, according to the fine print from the press release, and they will offer $1,500 stipends per show to all headlining and support acts. This is in reaction to the growing unrest from bands about merch cuts including many outspoken artists and fans clapping back on the practice. UPDATE: Rage Against The Machine Releases A Statement On Their Induction into The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame


UPDATE: After being announced as one of the 2023 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rage Against The Machine has released a statement about the announcement, their history of activism, and just how unlikely it is that they were voted in. The band has been on hiatus after canceling all of their 2023 tour dates due to Zach De La Rocha’s leg injury suffered in 2022.

 

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Foundation announced its 2023 Inductees. Rage Against The Machine, Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, George Michael are among the inductees. Iron Maiden and Soundgarden are once again snubbed, in spite of placing well in the well-meaning but counting for little in the final voting (1%). The Ceremony will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Friday, November 3rd, and will return to Cleveland in 2024. Here are the winners:
