INTERVIEW: I Ya Toyah Breaks Down Her New EP “I Am The Fire” and Working with Industrial Metal Legends


Ghost Cult Keefy caught up with prolific Industrial Metal artist I Ya Toyah all about her new EP I Am The Fire – due out on April 5th, 2024 via her own label, Femme Fatal Records. Even though she has been making music and being a creative force since she was young, I Ya Toyah has been putting out of ton of original music over the last few years, guesting with the greats in her genre, and remixing many artists too. She discussed her history, her new EP, a frank discussion of mental health issues, working with Stabbing Westward members Walker Flakus and Christopher Hall, and her upcoming tour supporting Orgy and Cold this month!

I Ya Toyah Shares a New Single and Video “Dream Not To Dream” Remix ft Stabbing Westward’s Christopher Hall


Industrial Metal ingenue I Ya Toyah has released a new single “Dream Not To Dream (Remix)!” The darkwave-inspired new take features vocals by Stabbing Westward’s Christopher Hall; the track is also remixed by him, too. The remix and original track “Dream Not To Dream” are both taken from I Ya Toyah’s forthcoming EP, I Am The Fire, due out on April 5th via the artists own label Femme Fatale Records. I Ya Toyah Releases a New Single “Panic Room” ft. Walter Flakus of Stabbing Westward


Industrial Metal artist I Ya Toyah has shared a new single “Panic Room” today, on October 27th, 2023. During a recent tour with Stabbing Westward in September, I Ya Toyah performed this unreleased single with guest Walter Flakus of Stabbing Westward. I Ya Toyah on keyboards, pedal stations and vocals and Walter on raging guitars created a mayhem that resulted in a demand for the single to become available for download and streaming. An official music video for “Panic Room” will premiere on November 9th. Purchase and stream the new single on Bandcamp, and watch a teaser of the song being performed live on tour in New York City and Baltimore, when I Ya Toyah opened for Stabbing Westward.

ALBUM REVIEW: Stabbing Westward – Chasing Ghosts


If you told me that Stabbing Westward, an Industrial Rock band originally from Chicago, would reenter my life twenty years after they first impacted it, I would not have believed you. Yet after all this time, I am listening to their first new studio album since 2001, Chasing Ghosts (COP International), and my world has been changed again. After devouring their most recent EP release Dead And Gone (COP International), fans were hungry for more and I was certainly no exception. Original founding members Christopher Hall and Walter Flakus have retained their signature style and newer members Carlton Bost and Bobby Amaro have brought so much richness to the sound.

Stabbing Westward Announces New EP Next Month – “Dead & Gone”


Legendary Chicago Industrial band Stabbing Westward has announced on Instagram their long in the works new EP, dubbed Dead and Gone, due on January 3rd. The group has said often at their concerts the last few years they had hoped to release new music at some point in the future. They released some old demos (The Iwo Jesus Demos) this year, but they had not released brand new music since in 2001’s self-titled album.Continue reading


The Clay People Release Illuminatus Lyric Video, New Album This Month


1990s underground metal legends The Clay People are returning with a new album later this month! Demon Hero and Other Extraordinary Phantasmagoric Anomalies & Fables on September 28th. The new 11-song album was recorded at OverIt Studios in Albany, NY. The Clay People started originally as a prominent industrial band Clay People but also had a varying style of alternative metal music that made an impact at the time. Singer Dan Neet described the album as “capturing us at a creative peak that was forged from what was, at times, a tenuous, cathartic and finally unifying recording process that reinvigorated and focused the band.”

The Clay People also called in extended members of its musical family to contribute to Demon Hero, with Chris Wyse (Hollywood Vampires, Ace Frehley, The Cult, OWL) contributing bass to the band’s reinterpretation of fan favorite ‘Strange Day’ and ‘genRX.’ Walter Flakus of Stabbing Westward and one-time Clay People member contributed keys, and programmer Wade Alin, who appeared on the band’s self-titled release, returns here as well.

The Dreaming have confirmed an upcoming June tour hitting the Midwest and East Coast. They are supporting their new album Rise Again, out now via Metropolis Records. The lineup features a semi reunion with frontman Christopher Hall and keyboardist Walter Flakus.
