Las Vegas, NV’s Caravels follow up their pensive 2013 full-length, Lacuna, with two more tracks of earthy, enveloping post-hardcore, all effects pedals and clouded brooding. Their two songs roll along tense faultlines with shouted lyrics that exert impossibly firm control over its metaphorical imagery and personality deconstructions. The band will be premiering these shortly before the release in January. The band has toured and played shows with the likes of Touche Amore, Seahaven, The Jazz June, and Drug Church.
Octaves formed in a warehouse in West Baltimore in the Fall of 2008, and released their B9 debut Which Way The Wind Blows in April 2013. The band has since toured the USA with the likes of HORSE the Band, Shai Hulud, and countless others in support of this release. These two new EP tracks mark the first new music since their debut, with more to come soon.

Topshelf Records has released a brand new free/pay-what-you-want digital sampler available for download here. All proceeds will be going to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty.
“We know, we know — it’s 2015 now. Like anything we do, though, we took our sweet time to finish this. So here it is: our annual digital sampler, a half year late! If you’ve downloaded any of our previous samplers, you might notice this year’s has a lot of tracks — we thought this was an incredible year for music and wanted to showcase the new, new-to-us or just downright exciting people making music that we’ve enjoyed this year (there are so many more artists we could and should include on this download but we had to exercise some restraint). Curating and putting this together is super rewarding — so we just wanted to thank everyone who has contributed a song!”
Kind of Like Spitting formed in 1996 in Portland, Oregon. The band, led by singer-songwriter Ben Barnett, regularly toured in the US and released twelve albums in seven years. They broke-up in 2006 but Barnett re-formed the band earlier this year. The current lineup consists of Barnett, (guitar/vocals), Brian Grant (bass) and Dante Johnson (drums).
Rockford, IL indie pop/emo stalwarts Warren Franklin & The Founding Fathers’ most recent effort was a split with Mikey Erg (ex-The Ergs) earlier this fall on Count Your Lucky Stars. The band will release their next LP soon.
