Roadburn Announces Tom G. Warrior’s Celtic Frost/Triptykon Requiem For 2019


In a stunning announcement former Roadburn artist and curator Thomas Gabriel Fischer, a.k.a. Tom G. Warrior will mark his return to Roadburn in 2019 with a full performance of Celtic Frost/Triptykon Requiem on Friday, April 12. The three-part Requiem comes complete with orchestral accompaniment via Dutch Metropole Orkest! More details below. The first part of the three-part Requiem appeared on Celtic Frost’s Into The Pandemonium and was titled Rex Irae. The third part, titled Winter was brought to life on the Celtic Frost album Monotheist in 2006, and until now, the missing second part has remained incomplete. Continue reading

Thomas Gabriel Fischer Breaks His Arm, In Recovery Until Late Summer


Thomas Gabriel Fischer of Triptykon announced on his blog that he was assaulted randomly and broke his right arm. He is in considerable pain and inconvenience since he is right-handed. This news was on the same day the band was announced for the Decibel Magazine Metal And Beer Festival: Los Angeles edition this December, booked to perform a special all Celtic Frost setlist. According to Fischer, the injury will prevent him from playing guitar until late summer. Triptykon is still working on the follow-up release to 2014’s Melana Chasmata, released via Prowling Death/Century Media Records. Get well soon Tom! Continue reading

The metal world lost another great one today as news has come down that Martin Eric Ain, influential musician and composer for two of the most influential bands to exist, Celtic Frost and Hellhammer, has passed away from an apparent heart attack in Switzerland. He was 50 years old. Ain’s close friend Jan Graber reported that Ain’s death was sudden and he had no known illnesses.Continue reading

Vincent Castiglia Talks About Sanguine Spring, H.R. Giger, Slayer, And More


World-renowned artist and tattooist Vincent Castiglia has carved out a reputation as one of the most creative and fascinating figures in the world. His new exhibition Sanguine Spring is currently running at the Salem Art Gallery at the Satanic Temple in Salem Mass through the end of the month. Combining sculture, paintings, and other works, this exhibit represents some of his most varied and forward-thinking collections yet. We caught up with Vincent in his studio to discuss the exhibit, his creative process, the lasting influence of H.R.
