ALBUM REVIEW: Times of Grace – Songs of Loss and Separation


Nearly fifteen years ago, current Killswitch Engage members Jesse Leach and Adam Dutkiewicz teamed up to birth the collaborative project Times of Grace. This dynamic duo pushed their creative boundaries by conjuring a fresh take on the heavy-yet-melodic sound. They delivered their debut album, The Hymn of a Broken Man (Roadrunner Records) in 2011. The gloom and aggression let loose on that record was ignited by the brutally honest songwriting. The themes of struggle, heartbreak, and hope were potently delivered with a real and plaintive spirit. These two brought forth a discovery of powerful melancholy and now ten years later, they are offering a sequel to that revelation. Their second full-length Songs of Loss and Separation (Wicked Good Records) is carrying on the melodic mournfulness, yet wonderfully wholesome sound that is Times of Grace.

Jesse Leach Gives an Update on His Side Projects – Times of Grace and The Weapon


Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach has a hectic schedule. He is winding down Killswitch’s tour with Clutch (coverage soon at Ghost Cult), and the bands’ new album Atonement (Metal Blade) is just weeks away now. Leach just updated fans on two of his other bands, Times of Grace, and The Weapon. Times of Grace features his KsE partner Adam D. and released the incredible debut The Hymn of A Broken Man (Roadrunner Records) in 2011. The band was integral to getting Jesse back into KsE a short time later. The Weapon is a NYHC-inspired band with also features former Thy Will Be Done guitarist Chris Drapeau and has a two-song EP out from 2018. Leach shared in two posts on his Instagram (which you should all follow) that ToG has a new full-length album almost done, and The Weapon is also about to hit the studio this week and finish up their debut full length! Act of Defiance Kicks Off Their Summer Tour, Dates With Armored Saint Start Next Week


Act of Defiance kicks off their new North American summer tour tonight. Starting in Denver, CO where the band will play the first of four headlining shows before joining Armored Saint on their previously announced Symbol Of Salvation tour beginning July 10th in Poughkeepsie, NY. Act of Defiance includes in its ranks Chris Broderick (ex-Megadeth), Shawn Drover (ex-Megadeth), Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall, Times Of Grace), and Henry Derek (Scar The Martyr). The band is still touring behind their latest studio album, Old Scars, New Wounds, via Metal Blade Records from 2017.Continue reading
