Tim Commerford of Rage Against the Machine Has Been Battling Prostate Cancer


 

In an interview with Spin, Tim Commerford, the bassist and co-founding member of Rage Against the Machine has been battling Prostate Cancer. The 54-year-old bassist has already had a surgery to remove his prostate just before RATM went on tour earlier in 2023, and has been dealing with the situation the last few years. Tim just released music from his new band 7D7D. Tim has remained optimistic and currently has zero PSA’s (prostate-specific antigen) in his system, which for the moment means cancer free. He will be tested every six months now. Best of luck, Tim.

Rage Against The Machine Postpones Start of Reunion Tour Until July


Rage Against The Machine has announced they have postponed the kickoff of its much-anticipated “Public Service Announcement” to this summer. The North American leg of the trek was originally slated to begin in March 2020 before it was rescheduled several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The trek will now kick off on July 9th in East Troy, Wisconsin. Shows that were supposed to take place between March 31 and May 23 will be rescheduled at a later date. The Rage Against the Machine Reunion Effectively Ends Prophets of Rage


With the news of the reunion of Rage Against the Machine, Prophets of Rage’s chapter as a band carrying on that legacy is now over. That supergroup included Tom Morello (guitar), Brad Wilk (drums) and Tim Commerford of RATM along with HipHop legends Chuck D of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill. Just after the RATM reunion was announced for a series of shows in 2020, including an appearance at next year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Chuck and B-Real each posted to social media confirming their band is done.
