Jerry Cantrell Signs New Endorsement Deal with Gibson Guitars as a Brand Ambassador

Jerry Cantrell has announced a new partnership with Gibson Guitars. Gibson, in business for the past 126 years, has announced today, January XX, 2020 that Cantrell–main songwriter, lead guitarist, and vocalist for the pioneering rock band Alice in Chains–will join as the brand ambassador. Jerry Cantrell will be doing a signing in the Gibson experience space, 3rd Floor, Ballroom A at Winter NAMM on Saturday, January 18 at 4:00 pm. Metal Allegiance Live At The Van Buren

Metal and rock Supergroup Metal Allegiance kicked off their 5th-anniversary tour last month with a slamming show at The Van Buren, in Phoenix Arizona. Presented by the Murder In The Front Row movie and Loudwire featured the core members – David Ellefson, Mark Menghi, Mike Portnoy, and Alex Skolnick – sharing the stage with Chuck Billy (Testament), John Bush (Armored Saint), and Phil Demmel (Machine Head). Also returning to the MA live show ranks after a three-year hiatus, vocalist/bassist Troy Sanders (Mastodon). Each night of the mini-tour offered a unique experience as with any MA gig. Tonight they were joined by local legends Max Cavalera (Soulfly), as well as members of Sacred Reich and Flotsam and Jetsam. Metal Allegiance To Celebrate Their Fifth Anniversary with Four Shows Next Month

As we previously reported, Thrash Metal supergroup Metal Allegiance will celebrate five years as a band next month, and now will party up with fans at four west coast shows! Presented by Murder In The Front Row and Loudwire will feature the core four members – David Ellefson, Mark Menghi, Mike Portnoy, and Alex Skolnick – sharing the stage with Chuck Billy (TESTAMENT), John Bush (Armored Saint), and Phil Demmel (Machine Head) and returning to the MA live show ranks after a three year hiatus, Grammy Award-winning vocalist/bassist Troy Sanders (Mastodon). Each night will offer a unique experience as with any Metal Allegiance show, you never know who will drop by to join the festivities. For the April 17th show in Phoenix, the band will be joined by Max Cavalera (Soulfly), the April 20th show in San Francisco will include Steve “Zetro” Souza (Exodus) and Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus). Opening the four nights are Superfix and Weapons Of Anew.

Danny Carey Leaks the Release Month of the New Tool Album

Tool drummer Danny Carey is at The NAMM Show this weekend promoting his gear endorsements. As broken by submission to Tool fan source www.fourtheye.net, Carey told a fan the new tool album is coming out in mid-April, adding “that’s the plan anyway”. Additionally, several confidants of the band posted that they were at a private listening party in Hollywood Friday night and heard the new tool album in one sitting as a preview for friends (see posts below). Granted this is not any kind of official announcement, but definitely encouraging for those waiting for some new Tool songs. Most Tool albums have been released around springtime and the band has festival appearances booked for the spring, followed by a full European tour this summer. Tool’s latest album 10,000 Days (Tool Dissectional/Volcano) was released almost 13 years ago, May 2nd, 2006. Continue reading →

Ultimate Namm Night 2019 to Feature 80 Top Names In Rock And Metal

The long-running community oriented all-star jam show, Ultimate Jam Night, in residency at the Whisky A Go Go presents will hold its second annual show during The NAMM Show entitled “Ultimate NAMM Night – The Power of Music” on Saturday, January 26, 2018, at the Hilton Anaheim California Ballroom. The show will feature performances by an All-Star artist list that includes Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, Tony Franklin, Doug Aldrich, Phil X, Stu Hamm, Charlie Benate, Rikki Rockett and many many more. Also included in will be full band performances by Flotsam & Jetsam, Sweet, and Marco Mendoza’s El Trio. Check out the sweet poster below with all the talent and additional performers will be added right up until showtime. Body Count, Silvertomb and Interloper will play a private party for Schecter Guitar Research Party At NAMM. The NAMM Show is the annual music industry gear conference attended by artists and fans. The private parties and shows are usually the highlight of the week and hard to get into. We’d love to see this lineup as an entire tour someday. Body Count, featuring Hip-Hop legend and TV and film star Ice-T are working on a new album for 2019. Silvertomb, featuring members of Type O Negative, Agnostic Front, and Inhuman is also working on an album, their highly-anticipated full-length debut.
