Now in its 11th year, Manchester’s SOS Fest is going from strength to strength and firmly establishing itself as one of the very best small festivals going. The key to the festival is family, the whole thing is family run, and has the kids firmly at its heart. For every parent wondering if it’s time to start their kids at a festival then this is the one for you. There are kids everywhere, from playing happily in the kids’ area, performing sets on the acoustic stage, doing press, and generally rocking out it’s clear from the atmosphere that SOS really is THE family festival. Bad Wolves’ Cranberries Cover Is The Number 1 Song In America


Normally at Ghost Cult, we don’t pay attention to things like Billboard charts here, as it have little relevence to rock, metal and other underground music. But we have to give a shout out to Bad Wolves, whose cover of The Cranberries‘ ‘Zombie’ is now the number one mainstream song in America and charting in other countries in the world as well. It is quite a feat for a band that is a metal band at heart with members from God Forbid, Devildriver and Snot among others. Their debut album Disobey is out next week, on May 11th from Eleven Seven Music Group. They are also hitting the road with labelmates From Ashes To New And Diamante. Tour dates below. Bad Wolves Release Debut EP, Perform Zombie On TV For The First Time


Rising metal band Bad Wolves have surprised released their début EP, False Flags Volume One (Eleven Seven Music) this past weekend. On the strength of their worldwide #1 hit cover song of The Cranberries’ classic ‘Zombie’, the band offered a sample of what is to come on their first full-length Disobey, due out May 11th. Stream Amanda Palmer And Jhereck Bischoff’s Covers Of The Cranberries


The music world is still reeling from the sudden death of The Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan at age 46 on January 15th. Tributes have poured in from bands and fans near and far to the iconic 1990’s vocalist and her band. Now cabaret punk Amanda Palmer and her occasional co-conspirator Jhereck Bischoff have released Quartet for Dolores, a charity single. The release dropped via Bandcamp and includes the classics ‘No Need To Argue’ and ‘Zombie’. All proceeds from the purchases go to Chernobyl Children International, a charity Dolores ardently supported. Continue reading
