Metallica has teamed up again with Wal-Mart to release a new series of EXCLUSIVE colored vinyl series for the albums Load (1996), Reload (1997), Garage Inc. (1998), St. Anger (2003) and Death Magnetic (2008). This follows the 2021 release of the “original five” Metallica albums and Hardwired… To Self-Destruct (2016). Metallica’s Black Box archival video and content project is winding down their Black Album era series of weekend content uploads and concerts streams for a low price. The final concert stream is this weekend with Live In Tel Aviv Concert from 1993, which you can pre-order below. Presumably, with Metallica preparing deluxe re-releases of Load and ReLoad, we’ll see more Black Box content for those albums soon.

Metallica played a rare intimate last month in San Francisco at The Independent. The band texted their fans via a new text service they are using and the tickets to the tiny venue, the 500 person capacity show sold out in less than 1 hour. They also played Chicago the next week in a simlar show with a different setlist at The Metro. The band just released The Black Album Remastered Boxed Set and The Black Album Blacklist covers album on September 10th, 2021.
