Considering the lengthy silence between Chrome Waves self-titled EP in 2012 and 2019’s A Grief Observed, it’s great that the group has been so prolific since their comeback. Their second full-length album, Where We Live (Disorder Recordings), picks up where its predecessor left off while featuring its own set of changes. Dustin Boltjes (ex-Skeletonwitch, Sacred Leather) is on drums in place of the tragically passed Bob Fouts, and the eclectic influences behind the band’s melancholic sound are given room to expand even further.Continue reading

Great Scott, Legendary Boston Music Venue, to Shut Down Permanently Due to COVID-19 Closure
Sad news out of Boston as one of the legendary music venues of all time, Great Scott, has announced they will not return when the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic subsides. The club’s manager posted a Facebook message to fans, thanking them for a lifetime of memories. Great Scott, in the Allston neighborhood, was home to all kinds of music, but definitely supported all kinds of rock, metal, punk, and hardcore over the years. Ghost Cult covered countless shows at the venue including Intronaut, Nails, Royal Thunder, Corrections House, Toxic Holocaust, Revocation, Kylesa, The Krum Bums, The Atlas Moth, Kvelertak and many more. Sadly this seems to be one of a wave of clubs, bars, and small businesses crushed by the economic downturn following this pandemic. Continue reading

In addition, she also takes time to write advice pieces for bands and others involved in the music industry. The Atlas Moth – Coma Noir
Over the course of three albums, Chicago’s The Atlas Moth have shown signs of both significant transformation, and of a band on the verge of delivering something spectacular. Where the second album, An Ache For The Distance (Profound Lore) brought the buzz with their Neurosis influenced brand of post-Metal beginning to develop from the debut release, the follow up The Old Believer (Profound Lore) firmly put them on the map, opening up to wider expanses and a greater diversity in their sound.
