As promised, Suicidal Tendencies rang in 2019 with a brand new video for their song ‘All Kind Crazy’. The track comes from their 2018 album STill Cyco Punk After All These Years (Suicidal Records). The live performance clip was shot on tour last fall and features the punk rock, pulse-pounding feeling of what it’s like to throw down at an ST show. The video was recorded while on tour last fall, which included special performances of their self-titled debut album which turned 35 in 2018. In addition to leader/frontman Mike Muir, Suicidal Tendencies current lineup features guitarist Dean Pleasants, bassist Ra Diaz, drummer Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer, Dead Cross) and included special guest live guitarist Ben Weinman (ex Dillinger Escape Plan). There are no rules in punk rock. Suicidal Tendencies helped espouse that philosophy as much as any band ever. So really at this stage of the game, touring the world, playing anniversary shows celebrating their legendary self-titled debut, and having a lineup that is straight fire, they can do whatever they want to. However frontman Mike Muir didn’t always think this was the case. During the mid 90s hiatus of ST, Muir released the solo album Lost My Brain…Once Again (Epic), which sounded quite familiar. That album featured Steve Jones of Sex Pistols, Adam Siegel of Excel, and even Dave Kushner who went on to Velvet Revolver. A punked up throwback to the early – non-crossover thrash sound of the band, but the same brilliance from Muir lyrically and even some more of the fun of ST sideband, Infectious Grooves. Muir had wanted to redo this album for years but finally settled on having the latest incarnation the bands re-record it under the name STill Cyco Punk After All These Years (Suicidal Records). Widespread Bloodshed, the ccrossover hardcore/thrash release from Venice, CA band No Mercy will see a re-release later this month from Suicidal Records (Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves). The classic album featured ST’s Cyko Myko Mike Muir on vocals and future (and now past) ST member Mike Clark. Clark would go on to bring the true crossover style to ST, creating thrash metal classics such as How Will I Laugh Tomorrow and Lights… Camera… Revolution! Some versions of these tracks were collected once before on the ST release Controlled By Hatred/Feel Like Shit/Deja Vu (Epic) in 1989, but were not the original versions of the songs.
From The Press Release:
Suicidal Records is proud to announce their plans of re-releasing the entire collective works by legendary crossover outfit, No Mercy, this October.
Founded by Mike Clark in the mid-’80s, before he became a part of the dominating Suicidal Tendencies, No Mercy only released one album amidst touring regionally on the West Coast in the band’s short-lived history, yet those songs left an impressive impact on the scene forever. With Clark handling all guitar duties, joined by bassist (and O.G. Suicidal artist) Ric Clayton, drummer Sal Troy, and Suicidal’s Mike Muir on vocals, Widespread Bloodshed (Love Runs Red) was engineered by Palm Neal and produced by Mike Muir, and after being originally released on LP and cassette by Suicidal Tendencies’ own Suicidal Records in 1987, now, over two-and-a-half decades since it’s been available, the label will reissue these timeless anthems in upgraded quality.
Remastered by “Big Bass” Brian Gardner at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood, Widespread Bloodshed (Love Runs Red) will be released in the US on October 28th (also Mike Clark’s birthday) on CD, download as well as traditional black vinyl and picture disc LP versions. The record will see release in Europe the day before on CD and digital only.
