Corey Taylor of Slipknot Details His Upcoming Solo Record in a New Interview

In a new interview at, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor spoke to Terry “Beez” Bezer of’s “Mosh Talks With Beez” about his upcoming debut solo album, tentatively due in September. Taylor recorded the effort with his solo band consisting of Jason Christopher on bass, Dustin Schoenhofer on drums, and Zach Throne and Christian Martucci (Stone Sour) on guitar. (as transcribed by  “It was something I was planning to do anyway next year when I got off the road with Slipknot, and, obviously, best-laid plans [were] just done and done [because of the coronavirus pandemic],” he said. “But I figured if this was the time to do it, why not try and do it. Me and my band quarantined. We social distanced for about two weeks, including our producer, Jay Ruston, who I worked with, and the people at the studio that I recorded at, which was Kevin Churko’s Hideout [Recording Studio in Las Vegas].

Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has raised over 150k along with eBay with their charity guitar auction. The funds will go to benefit Covid-19 Response Efforts. After two weeks and nearly 800 bids, Taylor raised over $75,000 USD which was matched by eBay for Charity, totaling over $150,000 USD donated to Direct Relief in support of their COVID-19 response efforts. Avatar Will Release New Album “Hunter Gatherer” This Summer

Swedish theatrical metallers Avatar has set Hunter Gatherer as the title of their new album, due on August 7th via eOne Music. The band revealed the name of the new disc in a one-and-a-half-minute video teaser, inspired by The Matrix films and Blade Runner, which was uploaded to their official YouTube channel. Stone Sour Shares Unreleased Demo of “Your God” from “Come What(ever) May”

Stone Sour has released a demo version of the song ‘Your God’. The original track appeared on the band’s sophomore album, Come What(ever) May, which came out in 2006 via Roadrunner Records. Josh Rand curated the post, as he has done all year sharing demos, while the band is, according to Rand, on indefinite hiatus. Corey Taylor’s other band Slipknot is in the middle of an album and tour cycle for their recent album We Are Not Your Kind, and he is also planning a solo album and book release for 2020.
