ALBUM REVIEW: Soulfly – Totem

Max Cavalera, a true legend and without a doubt one of the hardest working men in Metal, is back with the first new Soulfly music since Ritual in 2018. Although never one to sit on his laurels, since then Max has also treated us to Reluctant Hero (2020), the second album from his Killer Be Killed side project, and last year’s excellent nod to the old school and self-proclaimed “Caveman Metal” record, Go Ahead And Die, with his son Igor. CONCERT REVIEW: Max and Iggor Cavalera – Warbringer – Healing Magic Live at The Gramercy Theater

The Gramercy Theater was electrified with anticipation as the venue became filled to capacity. It’s a surprise to no one that this show is sold out – this was special. ALBUM REVIEW: Confess – Revenge At All Cost

With a title like Revenge At All Cost (Rexius Records) I suspected Confess’ latest to sound angry. You’re probably saying, “this is heavy metal, anger is sort of the modus operandi.” And I totally get that. We likely wouldn’t have metal or punk today if it wasn’t for a few young people coming together with some anger or resentment in their hearts and a willingness to do something about it.

CONCERT REVIEW: Soulfly – Suicide Puppets – Breathe Atomic – Lowgear: Live at Trees in Dallas

Upon arrival at Trees in Dallas, it was evident that both the bands and the event staff were excited to welcome the return of live music to their venue.
