ALBUM REVIEW: Bury Tomorrow – Cannibal

Is it weird to have “should’ve leaned more into brutality” as your first thought upon completing a Metalcore album? Asking for a friend. That’s not to say that there is a total absence of the heavier and grimier stuff on Bury Tomorrow’s Cannibal (Music for Nations/Sony), but I wouldn’t have been heartbroken if they would’ve squeezed some more juice out of the amps.

The Music Industry Will Lead a Blackout In Solidarity With Black Community Following George Floyd Death

A number of record labels and other music industry members have joined forces to make June 2 “Black Out Tuesday” in response to the killing of George Floyd and nationwide protests. Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was killed in Minneapolis by a police officer in an incident caught on camera. The officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeled on his neck for nearly ten minutes while Floyd was handcuffed. Chauvin has since been charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter. Warner Records, Universal, Sony, Interscope Geffen, and Columbia are among the labels that have pledged to “disconnect from work and reconnect with our community” on Tuesday. Continue reading

The supergroup features former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Sherinian, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force) and just released their live album Live With The Plovdiv Psychotic Symphony on August 30 via InsideOut Music. Amon Amarth Share Their New Music Video for “Mjolner”

Fresh off of their North American tour with Slayer, Amon Amarth has shared a new music video. The video for ‘Mjolner’ is the final chapter in the trilogy of videos that included ‘Raven’s Flight’ and ‘Crack the Sky’ all directed by Roboshobo, and have launched their recent album Berserker, out now via Sony/Metal Blade Records. The band continues to support the release and will appear at Download Festival 2019 on the main stage, on Sunday 16th of June. Watch the video now!
