Metallica’s S & M Concert to Air on PBS Tonight

According to a published report by Blabbermouth.net, Metallica’s recently released 2019 concert film “Metallica And San Francisco Symphony: S&M²” will air on PBS tonight. The concert will premiere tonight (Thursday, October 29) 9:00-10:30 p.m. ET (check local listings) and will re-air a number of times over the coming weeks on PBS affiliates. Metallica’s New Batch of Blackened American Whiskey Was Made to the “S and M 2” Playlist

Metallica released their latest album S&M² (Blackened Recordings) this past summer, as a live document (CD/Blu-ray) of their 20th-anniversary concerts in 2019. Metallica Has a Billboard Top Five Record with “S and M2”

According to a published report from Billboard, Metallica’s new album, released on August 28th, 2020 – Metallica And San Francisco Symphony: S&M² has entered the Billboard 200 chart at position No. 4. The record racked up 56,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending September 3, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. This was aided by their “Encore Drive-In Nights” series “Jump in the Drive-In” event on August 29th in which every fan that bought a car-load package to their Drive-In concert event received four copies of the new album digitally. Many of their pre-order bundle options sold out early. The album ranked 4th behind Taylor Swift’s album Folklore, and slightly ahead of Katy Perry at number five.

The band discussed their new album S&M2 with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, their livestream, drive-in concert (before it was aired live at drive-ins, how they created their new version of ‘Blackened”, and much more. Metallica to Perform First Show of 2020, to be Broadcast One Night Only at Drive-In Theaters

Metallica will take the stage for the first time since the September 2019 S&M2 concerts that opened Chase Center in San Francisco. Metallica will be the first rock band to be featured in the Encore Drive-In Nights series, with a full set showing August 29 at hundreds of drive-in and outdoor theaters across the United States and Canada. The show will be shot for the Encore Drive-In Nights Series at a location near the band’s Northern California headquarters and will subsequently be edited and mixed by Metallica’s award-winning production team to the highest standards possible. The concert, the band’s first show in nearly a year, will feature material from throughout their near four-decade career and provide Metallica fans with an intimate, unique, and truly memorable concert experience.
