Slayer Claims to Have Sold $10 Million Worth of Merch on Their Farewell Tour


According to Pollstar, the music industry source for data on touring bands, Slayer’s management has reported that they have sold more than $10 million worth of merchandise on their farewell tour so far, with another leg to go. In addition, there have been some notable concert grosses on the trek, including Papa Murphy’s Park in Sacramento (13,711 tickets, $715,760), SAP Center in San Jose (9,408, $597,042) and 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, (10,643, $648,140).Continue reading

Slayer Announced As The Headliner For Heavy Montreal 10th Anniversary


Slayer has been announced as the first band for Heavy Montreal’s tenth-anniversary edition! Presented by Black Label, the fest takes place at Parc Jean-Drapeau on July 27th And 28th. A sister punk rock fest, Heavy `77 takes place on Friday July 26th. The fest will be Slayer’s final appearance in Quebec, Canada and tickets are on sale now. Continue reading

As we reported yesterday, shredder Phil Demmel (ex-Machine Head) is stepping in for thrash legend Gary Holt for the remainder of Slayer’s current European farewell tour dates. Slayer Adds Headline Shows In Australia To Their 2019 Farewell Tour


Slayer is giving fans one more chance to ‘Reign In Blood’ with them as they book more farewell tour dates for 2019. Billed as their final appearance ever in Australia, the band is already scheduled for Download Festival Australia. Now they have added headline shows in both Brisbane and Adelaide. Direct support for the two headline shows will come from peers and frequent tourmates Anthrax and Behemoth. Former Slayer Drummer Dave Lombardo Pays Tribute To Jeff Hanneman


In a wide-ranging interview over at Metal Hammer, drummer Dave Lombardo (Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Cross) penned a lengthy tribute to his late Slayer bandmate Jeff Hanneman. Hanneman passed away in 2013, and Lomardo exited Slayer for the final time as well in 2013. All of metal misses Jeff’s spirit and talent. Slayer Kicks Off Leg Two Of Their Farewell Tour Today


Slayer will embark in leg two of their planned farewell tour today in New Hampshire. The tour dates running through late next month and will feature Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Testament and Napalm Death as openers. The highly successful first tour features the same openers, but with Behemoth instead of Napalm Death. Make sure you get to these shows early as you don’t want to miss any of the bands and they will start on time. Slayer has booked a third leg for the UK later this year and a farewell performance at next summer’s Hellfest in France.
