A brand new supergroup has formed with legends of Doom Metal including members of Type of Negative, Crowbar, and Down dubbed EYE AM. The news was revealed in a post from Florida metal label Corpsepaint Records! The band consists of Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly of Type O Negative and Silvertomb on guitar and drums, Kirk Windstein of Crowbar, Down, and Kingdom of Sorrow, and Todd Strange, formerly of Crowbar and Down. The debut single will be recorded by bassist Roger Lima of Less Than Jake.
Desert Fest NYC – the US version of the classic European stoner doom festival has added their final bands and set their daily lineups. Brume, Geezer, Mother Iron Horse, Howling Giant, Green Druid, and Greenbeard are all added to the bill while Fatso Jetson has dropped off the bill. In a story we have been following, Psycho Las Vegas has announced that bands such as Mayhen and Satyricon have dropped off the upcoming metal festival later this month. This is due to ongoing travel/work visa and pandemic related issues. To their credit, the fest has been dealing complaints and addressing on social media, and in emaisl to ticket holders. Psycho Las Vegas has shared the bad news that they have canceled the 2020 festival that was set for August due to ot the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Psycho Las Vegas 2021 has been scheduled to August 19-22, 2021. “Nearly all the bands” have agreed to return for the 2021st dates. One of the most anticipated albums of 2019, Silvertomb is made up of some pretty famous alumni of pretty legendary bands. Flying behind the sails of creativity from the talents of Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly of Type O Negative fame, the pair have played together since their were teens, and in other bands as well. Silvertomb has announced they have signed an international record deal with German independent label Long Branch Records / SPV. The band self-released their debut single ‘Insomnia’ and have been working on new music for quite some time. Silvertomb is the next band from Type O Negative and Seventh Void, members Kenny Hickey (Type O Negative, Seventh Void), Johnny Kelly (TypeO Negative, Danzig) and Hank Hell (Seventh Void, Inhuman). Body Count, Silvertomb and Interloper will play a private party for Schecter Guitar Research Party At NAMM. The NAMM Show is the annual music industry gear conference attended by artists and fans. The private parties and shows are usually the highlight of the week and hard to get into. We’d love to see this lineup as an entire tour someday. Body Count, featuring Hip-Hop legend and TV and film star Ice-T are working on a new album for 2019. Silvertomb, featuring members of Type O Negative, Agnostic Front, and Inhuman is also working on an album, their highly-anticipated full-length debut.
