CONCERT REVIEW: Metallica – Pantera – Mammoth WVH – Prong Live at MetLife Stadium


 

The Metallica Family descended on New Jersey from all around the world for the kickoff date of the 2024 North American tour of Metallica’s M72 tour. On the back of the excellent 72 Seasons album released this spring on Blackened Recordings (read our review here). Reports from the European tour were high, especially their impressive turn at Download Festival. The two shows, per city, no repeats in the setlist is matched only in its ambition by the incredible in-the-round staging and all weekend-long Metallica Takeover events, including pop-shops, a Metallica film festival, side concerts with Metallica-related bands, a Ross Halfin photo book Q & A book signing and more.

Metallica performed their two sold-out 40th Anniversary concerts in December of 2021, as part of their San Francisco Takeover of their hometown celebrations which included the band getting the key to the city, a block party/fan event, metallica Blackened Whiskey tastings, a Ross Halfin curated photo gallery exhibition, a film festival at a venue they used to play (The AMC Kabuki), and more! Metallica to Release the Ross Halfin Curated “The Black Album in Black and White” Book this Fall


Metallica’s cvelebration of the 30th Anniversary of “The Black ALbum” ius just cgetting startedf with their massive boxed set/remaster and covers album. Now they will release Black Album in Black and White this october. Published by Reel Art Press, and curated with photos from iconic Metallica photog Ross Halfin, the book chronicles the entire Metallica album cycle from recording and through 300 tour dates from 1991 -1993.
