Guns N Roses Reunion Line Up: Only Axl, Slash And Duff Confirmed

GNR color

The much talked about reunion of the “classic” Guns `N Roses lineup so far only includes W. Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, according to a press release the band put out tonight. This is the first official word put out by the a, beyond posts to social media.Touting the reunion as the first time these band members have all shared a stage since 1993; the official text of the press release only confirms “founder Axl Rose and former members Slash and Duff McKagan will regroup to headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival (April 15-17 & April 22-24).”

Not only has their been rampant speculation for months about whether they would actually reunite, there has been equal amount of chatter among fans and the press as to who would form this lineup. Although in the actual announcement last night Duff McKagan tagged both Matt Sorum and Steven Adler in his post, neither was confirmed in the press release or official announcement by the band. Equally mum has been reclusive rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, former guitarist Gilby Clark, or current GNR band members Richard Fortus and Frank Ferrer. It has been presumed by the media that long time keyboardist Dizzy Reed would also return. It’s possible with the format of Coachella the GNR performances could include some or all past members of the band. We will continue to follow this story as it develops.

UPDATE: Guns N’ Roses Reunion May Not Feature All Original Members

1000509261001_2127498997001_BIO-Biography-Guns-N-Roses-LF

ThePulseOfRadio.com is reporting a “well-placed rumor” that any reunion of Guns N’ Roses may not include either the classic lineup, nor members from other early lineups of the band. According to the source, the lineup will certainly feature W. Axl Rose, Slash (Saul Hudson) and Duff McKagan from the original line-up. Beyond that it is unknown if either the reclusive Izzy Stadlin or Stephen Adler would be extended an invitation. Also unknown is whether Matt Sorum, who replaced Adler and was the longest-tenured GNR drummer would be invited back, or if Slash and fan favorite Gilby Clarke might appear as well. Keyboardist Dizzy Reed has continued to play with the latest incarnation of the band, and is assumed to return. A more likely scenario is that the original line-up of the band would be joined by current GNR members drummer Frank Ferrara and guitarist Richard Fortus.

As previously reported by Ghost Cult, Dishnation.com published a news story claiming that the “original lineup” Guns N’ Roses are set to reunite and begin a world tour, with the announcement being just “days away”.

As reported on the website:

Slash and Axl have verbally agreed to get things together again and reform the original band. The live shows is where they can show the world what they had and also make the greatest earnings.”

Promoters are quietly working away to land opportunities. Details of the reunion are expected to leak out in the next few days. Everyone is expecting huge demand for tickets, but the boys are very humble and are not sure what to expect.”
