Rage Against The Machine Cancels Their Entire 2023 North American Tour

In a post to social media directly from Zach De La Rocha, Rage Against The Machine will cancel all 2023 North American tour dates, already postponed twice due to covid, due to Zach’s Achilles Tendon injury suffered on the last tour. Zach regrets the cancellation and full refunds are available at the point of purchase. Zach’s severe Achilles injury during the second show forced him to sit for the rest of the tour on stage and he has 8% or less left of his tendon, with surgery and many months of rehab in the future. UPDATED: A Soft Rock Radio Station Played Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing In The Name” on a Loop for Over 24 Hours Straight

UPDATED: According to a report from Rolling Stone, Soft Rock format Radio station 104.9 KISS Radio in Vancouver, British Columbia played Rage Against The Machine’s classic track “Killing In The Name” on a loop for over 24-hours. It started after two popular morning hosts were fired abruptly. With no warning, the station began playing the song all day long. Fans called the station, begging for requests or to change it, but the hosts just keep on playing the song. Ulitmately the station was closing down switching to an alternative rock format, a.k.a Sonic Radio.

Rage Against The Machine Announces Rebooked Dates for US Tour

Last month, Rage Against The Machine postponed dates of its reunion tour – the “Public Service Announcement” – their first tour in a decade – to this summer. Originally slated to begin in March 2020 before and rescheduled several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The trek will now kick off on July 9th in East Troy, Wisconsin. The first leg of dates for the west coast was postponed to 2023 and is now revealed. Run The Jewels will still provide direct support. All tickets for the dates will be honored. Fans who would like a refund have until March 15 to do so and should contact their point of purchase.

Rage Against the Machine, Judas Priest, New York Dolls, Eminem, Beck, Pat Benatar, MC5, and many more among the nominees for the class of 2022 of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Seventeen acts have been nominated with seven on the ballot for the very first time: Eminem, Beck, Duran Duran, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, and A Tribe Called Quest. Eminem is in his first year of eligibility for rapper. The fan voting is also open as of today on the Rock Hall’s website, but only counts for a tiny portion of the final talley and not really a factor in who is voted in.

Rage Against The Machine Postpones Start of Reunion Tour Until July

Rage Against The Machine has announced they have postponed the kickoff of its much-anticipated “Public Service Announcement” to this summer. The North American leg of the trek was originally slated to begin in March 2020 before it was rescheduled several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The trek will now kick off on July 9th in East Troy, Wisconsin. Shows that were supposed to take place between March 31 and May 23 will be rescheduled at a later date. Brass Against’s Cover of “Wake Up” by Rage Against the Machine Heard in “Matrix Resurrections”

Brass Against’s cover of iconic Rage Against The Machine track “Wake Up” is featured in the new Matrix franchise sequel – Matrix Resurrections. The original track was featured over the end credits in the original Matrix and the track was also teased in the final trailer for the new film. The band is famous for their covers of major Rock and Metal bands using a massive Horn section. Brass Against was in the news recently in a viral story when singer Sophia Urista urinated on a fan at Welcome To Rockville festival 2021 in Daytona, Florida. She and the band have since apologized publicly. The band has been banned from ever performing at the location of the festival, Daytona Speedway, ever again. You can catch Brass Against in 2022 opening for Tool on their headline tour across Europe.

Jay-Z, Foo Fighters and The Go-Gos to Be Inducted in The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Iron Maiden and RATM Get Snubbed

Ever controversial, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2021 inductees have been announced. JAY-Z, Foo Fighters, Tina Turner, the Go-Go’s, Todd Rundgren, and Carole King will all be inducted. It marks the second induction for Dave Grohl (previously with Nirvana), Turner (previously with Ike Turner), and King (previously with Gerry Goffin). Turner and King follow Stevie Nicks as the only women to be inducted multiple times. Those nominated include metal icons Rage Against the Machine, and Iron Maiden, along with Mary J. Blige, Kate Bush, Devo, Chaka Khan, Fela Kuti, New York Dolls, and Dionne Warwick. The Rock Hall has rarely gotten it right for Rock and Heavy Metal and of bands that are officially in the metal genre, only Black Sabbath and Metallica are in. Ozzy Osbourne genius guitarist Randy Rhodes will be induced in The Musical Excellence Award with LL Cool J, Billy Preston, and Randy Rhoads. Music executive Clarence Avant is this year’s Ahmet Ertegun Award, honoree.

Tom Morello Named Executive Music Producer of the Netflix Film Metal Lords from Game of Thrones Producers Benioff and Weiss

Hot on the heels of Tom Morello expanding his media outreach to SiriusXM on a new set of music channels and a podcast, comes word that the Rage Against the Machine guitarist has been named the Executive Music Producer of the upcoming Netflix film, Metal Lords from Game of Thrones producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The film, a coming-of-age comedy, was written by D.B. Weiss and produced by D.B. Weiss and Greg Shapiro. Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) is set to direct. The film stars Jaeden Martell, Isis Hainsworth, and Adrian Greensmith. This movie will be the first feature to come out of Netflix’s partnership with Benioff & Weiss. Often criticized by fans for not including enough actual rock and metal bands, The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has announced their nominees for the class of 2021. Among the included artists and bands are Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine, Tina Turner, Jay-Z, and New York Dolls, The Go-Gos, Todd Rundgren, LL Cool J and others. The Hall has always been inclusive of other genres of pop music such as Rap and Jazz even. RATM was denied last year after being a finalist and other heavy acts like Judas Priest and Soundgarden, mounted big campaigns, but ultimately fell short. The top vote-getters will be announced in May and inducted in a Cleveland, Ohio, ceremony in the fall. To be eligible for this year’s ballot, each nominee’s first single or album had to have been released in 1995 or earlier.
