Scott Rockenfeld Says He is Still a Member of Queensryche


Silent for many years since going on an apparent hiatus 2017, Scott Rockenfeld says he is still a member of Queensryche and the fans “have not been given the facts, by any means.” Scott hasn’t recorded or performed with the band for four years at this point and did not appear on the 2019 album The Verdict (Century Media Records). Drums on the album were performed by vocalist Todd La Torre and live drumming has been provided by Casey Grillo. Rockenfeld promised more details soon.

Jason Slater of Third Eye Blind and Snake River Conspiracy Has Died, Aged 49


Sad news to report that former Third Eye Blind bassist and Snake River Conspiracy founder Jason Slater has died, according to TMZ and Blabbermouth.net. His daughter, Alyssa Carlson, told the site the 49-year-old musician and producer passed away on December 9th, from liver failure at a hospital in Maui, Hawaii. Apparently, he kept this a secret from his family until recently. Slater formed put Snake River conspiracy in the Bay Area in 1999 with singer Tobey Torres and released an EP, a full-length Sonic Jihad (Reprise Records), and four singles. He put the band on hiatus when his producing career took off, producing four albums Queensrÿche including Operation Mindcrime II, and albums by Earshot, Enemy, and Slaves on Dope. Alice In Chains is being honored by Seattle’s MoPop Museum of Pop Culture on December 1st, and the band will be celebrated by a cadre of their peers, as well as hold their first performance of 2020. Korn, Metallica, Mastodon, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction, and Krist Novoselic of Nirvana are among the artists who will take part in virtual tribute performances when AIC is presented with this year’s Museum Of Pop Culture (MoPOP) Founders Award. Slipknot, Disturbed, Staind, Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach and More Booked for Rock Fest


Rock Fest has set most of its lineup, according to a report by The PRP. Slipknot, Disturbed, Staind, Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, and dozens of more bands will head the bill at the annual fest held near Cadott, WI from July 16th-18th. One direct support act to headliner Limp Bizkit is still pending for Saturday, July 18th. They will be revealed on January 24th.Continue reading

Last night in Anaheim during NAMM, The Metal Hall of Fame (formerly the Hall of Heavy Metal), an all-star band of metal legends covered metal classic ‘Paranoid’ Black Sabbath. The band was comprised of Geoff Tate (formerly of Queensrÿche), Joe Satriani (Chickenfoot), Steve Vai, Chris Poland (formerly of Megadeth), Bjorn Englen (Dio Disciples) and Pat Gesualdo last night’s (Wednesday, January 15). The Metal Hall of Fame Charity Gala To Be Filmed for Amazon Prime


Big news! The Hall of Heavy Metal History a.k.a. The Metal Hall of Fame has announced that the 2020 Annual Metal Hall of Fame Celebrity Charity Gala will be filmed live and will air on Amazon Prime. Hard rock and heavy metal fans in attendance will be featured in the filming, which will take place on January 15 at the Marriott Delta Garden Grove in Anaheim, CA. The world premiere of the film will air in early 2020, reaching more than 100 million subscribers. Metal Hall of Fame President/CEO Pat Gesualdo says, “Having the World Premier for the 2020 Metal Hall of Fame Gala on Amazon Prime is a great honor.
