FESTIVAL REVIEW: Sonic Temple 2019


The debut of the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival capped off the Danny Wimmer Presents 2019 spring festival season with sold-out crowds of 120,000 at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, OH, May 17, 18 & 19. It was a fest for the ages and one of the best lineups in the history of “The Worlds Loudest Month”, the signature of Danny Wimmer Presents music festival experiences. In addition to massive performances from Foo Fighters, System Of A Down, Disturbed, Ghost, Papa Roach and Lamb of God, the weekend offered one-of-a-kind art experiences, including legendary street artist RISK, art installations, live mural painting, live screen-printing and the popular Art Tent. The festival formerly known as Rock On The Range is now Sonic Temple, and it has its inaugural lineup. The very first lineup is an absolute banger with legends like System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Disturbed, Ghost, Bring Me The Horizon, The Prodigy, Lamb of God, Halestorm, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Chevelle, In This Moment, The Cult, Killswitch Engage among others. There will also be a comedy tent with Andrew Dice Clay, Henry Rollins and more. Tickets go onsale November 30th at 12 Noon EST at the link below. Pussy Riot’s Pyotr Verzilov Flown To Germany As Condition Worsens After Poisoning



As we previously reported Pussy Riot, the Russian activists and musicians suffered a serious blow when Pyotr Verzilov, the group’s unofficial spokesman, was poisoned last week in Moscow following a court hearing and was hospitalized. The band suspects foul play from the Russian government, a frequent target of the group. Although expected to pull through and recover, Pyotr’s condition worsened over the weekend and he has been flown to Berlin, Germany for further treatment. Veronika Nikulshina, Verzilov’s partner, told the Russian news portal Meduza that he lost he lost his vision and his ability to speak and could not move. Nikulshina made a further claim, backing her earlier assertion that Pyotr was poisoned in an attempt to kill him.

Pussy Riot Member In Critical Condition After Suspected Poisoning


Rough news as Pussy Riot member Pyotr Verzilov has been hospitalized and kept in critical condition after falling ill in Moscow this week, as detailed in a post below. The band has publicly theorized that Pyotr was poisoned. Veronika Nikulshina, Verzilov’s partner and fellow member in the group, told the Meduza news agency that Verzilov had begun to feel unwell following a court hearing on Tuesday and was later hospitalized in critical condition. Two hours after arriving home, “between eight and ten” that evening, Nikulshina said, “his condition got exponentially worse. First, it was his vision, then his ability to speak, and then his ability to walk.” As of now, he is expected to pull through, but no word on whether the band will still perform at this weekend’s Riot Fest. A U.S. spokesperson for the group told NPR that he didn’t take anything,’ ” Nikulshina said Wednesday, according to the Meduza news agency. “He was getting worse even faster, and then he started convulsing.
