The Annual Metal Hall of Fame Gala – “the most important night in metal” – can now be seen exclusively on Amazon Prime Television. The program features an overview with features of the 2020 Metal Hall of Fame including inductions, tributes, and all-star jams. Watch heavy metal legends Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Geoff Tate, Don Dokken, Chris Poland, Stephen Pearcy, Graham Bonnet, Metal Church, legendary music promoter Jack Orbin and Prong as they are inducted into the Hall and amazing performances including Chris Poland, Riot Act (featuring members of Riot), and an epic jam featuring Steve Vai, Geoff Tate, Joe Satriani, Bjorn Englen, Chris Poland, and Pat Gesualdo. Post-Hardcore is a sub-genre that gets tossed around today as commonplace, but in the early 1990s, it was a new little brother that the older sibling was not ready to cede attention to. As Hardcore Punk mutated into other offshoots, post-Hardcore started to gain ground. In New York City alone, the epicenter for many new waves of hardcore music, a lot of bands crossed over (see what we did there) and bands started to absorb elements of both with Prong, White Zombie, and Biohazard were all leaning more on metal vibes, Quicksand formed by members of ex-hardcore legend status bands we’re pushing towards a new sound. Heavy, but not in a tough guy way, vulnerable, but smart. By the time the members of essential musical outfits Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Beyond, Bold, Burn, and Collapse formed an anti-supergroup, released demos and the amazing Slip (Polydor) album, and toured tirelessly, fans in the scene could feel they were building to something huge. Rock and Shock Festival Disbands


Sad news on the Festival and Convention front as the long-running Rock and Shock Festival in Worcester, Massachusetts has disbanded after 15 years. The announcement was made in a post to social media about the festival canceling all further festivals. The fest paired the best Horror convention and concert series in the USA and made use of both the famous Worcester Palladium venue and the convention center at the DCU Center up the block. Lamb of God Teases New Album Due in 2020


On of Modern Metal’s leading lights, Lamb of God has shared a video teaser hinting at their next release, due at some point in 2020. The clip shows the band in the studio and ends with a solemn “2020”. Watch it below. The new LoG album will be the follow-up to 2015’s acclaimed VII: Sturm Und Drang (Reprise). The band also released a tribute EP to a fallen fan, The Duke in 2016, and also reconvened under their original moniker Burn The Priest to celebrate twenty years as a band in 2018 with an album of covers of Hardcore and Metal songs, Legion: XX. The new album will be the first without former co-founding drummer Chris Adler who departed the band in 2019. He was officially replaced by Art Cruz (Prong, Winds of Plague), who was a live fill-in for the band until he joined officially.

The Metal Hall of Fame Charity Gala To Be Filmed for Amazon Prime


Big news! The Hall of Heavy Metal History a.k.a. The Metal Hall of Fame has announced that the 2020 Annual Metal Hall of Fame Celebrity Charity Gala will be filmed live and will air on Amazon Prime. Hard rock and heavy metal fans in attendance will be featured in the filming, which will take place on January 15 at the Marriott Delta Garden Grove in Anaheim, CA. The world premiere of the film will air in early 2020, reaching more than 100 million subscribers. Metal Hall of Fame President/CEO Pat Gesualdo says, “Having the World Premier for the 2020 Metal Hall of Fame Gala on Amazon Prime is a great honor. We are excited to share the most important night in metal with music fans everywhere, and to let so many people take part in our charity event.” 2020 Metal Hall of Fame inductees include Steve Vai, Geoff Tate (Queensryche), Don Dokken (Dokken), Stephen Pearcy (Ratt), Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Alcatrazz), Joe Satriani, legendary metal promoter Stone City Attractions, Metal Church, Prong, and former Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland. Prong Releases New Single – “End of Sanity”


Prong has shared a new single, ”End of Sanity”. Recordeed with producer Chris Collier (No Absolutes, Zero Days) the recording is one of two tracks for a new EP, to be released in the fall. BI*AS, which features former Korn drummer David Silveria, has booked their first-ever tour, covering the West Coast next month. Kicking off on September 19 in Las Vegas will also feature Natas Lived.
