When I first heard Four Stroke Baron, I had no idea they were going to be one of my favorite finds of the year. “What kind of a name is that?” I thought, bracing for the worst. Man, was I floored by what I found. A pummeling barrage of progressive metal with crushing riffs and a blazing 1980’s synth crescendos that just don’t quit, yet really lit my fire was the vocals. Bucking the metal cliche of trying to come off as heavy and bröötal as possible, vocalist Kirk Witt delivers powerful lyrics in a meek and almost anxious style that puts you on edge and adds a sense of forlorn urgency to many of the tracks.

Even though pop culture and most of the music industry doesn’t care about rock or metal, mainstream critics sometimes surprise you. Ozzy Osbourne’s comeback album, Ordinary Man, (Epic Records, review here:) has been named to Billboard Magazine’s Top 50 Albums of 2020 So Far list from their staff. Extra special in that accolade is that Ozzy has one of only two Rock albums in the list of mainly Pop, Rap, and Dance music albums; the other being by The Strokes. Ordinary Man was produced and written by Andrew Watt, with other writers and performers such as Chad Smith of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses on bass, with Sir Elton John on vocals and piano, Slash on lead guitar, Tom Morello (RATM) on guitar and Post Malone!
Jack Osbourne, son of Ozzy Osbourne’s spoke to Collider about the upcoming biography The Nine Lives Of Ozzy Osbourne documentary, which will premiere this summer. The film, which A&E produced as part of its Biography series, celebrates Ozzy’s life and features interviews with Sharon Osbourne, Rick Rubin, Ice-T, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Jonathan Davis, and Post Malone. As reported previously, Post Malone held a livestream concert last night for charity via his YouTube channel. He performed Nirvana “hits and fan favorites” while raising money for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Among the musicians backing Post during the performance is Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. Throughout the show, Google will match all donations at up to $5 million, with all proceeds going to the UN Foundation. Not only did Posty have Kurt Cobain widow and co-estate executor Courtney Love’s blessing, Nirvana member Krist Novoselic watched the stream and tweeted his support and delight at the covers. Dallas, Texas artist Post Malone will host an exclusive livestream on his official YouTube channel tomorrow, Friday, April 24 at 3 PM PT/6 p.m. EST. broadcasting live from his home, he’s gearing up to perform a set of Nirvana hits and fan favorites. Posty played in metal and punk bands, loves underground metal and metalcore, and recently recorded and performed with Ozzy Osbourne for each of their recent albums. Post Malone is a die-hard Nirvana fan, who has previously covered “All Apologies” in concert. Friday’s livestream event will raise funds for the United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (WHO) in support of COVID-19 relief efforts.
