Pollstar, the music industry bible of data for recording artists has released their list of Highest-grossing Touring bands of the last decade and ranking on the list were Rock and Metal heavy hitters like Bon Jovi, Metallica and Guns N’ Roses. Slayer Claims to Have Sold $10 Million Worth of Merch on Their Farewell Tour

According to Pollstar, the music industry source for data on touring bands, Slayer’s management has reported that they have sold more than $10 million worth of merchandise on their farewell tour so far, with another leg to go. In addition, there have been some notable concert grosses on the trek, including Papa Murphy’s Park in Sacramento (13,711 tickets, $715,760), SAP Center in San Jose (9,408, $597,042) and 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, (10,643, $648,140). Metallica is Now “The Biggest Band In The World”, According to Pollstar

In a new feature by music industry bible Pollstar that track touring, album and merch sales Metallica is now arguably the biggest band in the world, certainly when it comes to touring.  Metallica has sold more than 22 million concert tickets since 1982, grossing more than $1.4 billion in the process. That puts the thrash legends “just behind” U2 in tickets sold, but ahead of rock peers such as AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, and Ozzy Osbourne. Continue reading
