CONCERT REVIEW: Ghost – Rotting Christ Live at OAKA Stadium


Summer has just begun in Athens, Greece and festival season has made its way all around the city. Presented by Athens Rocks, June 26th was a day for the masses, literally, as the band Ghost have arrived to perform their Gospel to their Greek clergy at OAKA Stadium. Supporting them were national favorites Rotting Christ, and also presenting were Candlemass and Tyhus for those who braved by arriving early into the hot and sunny Grecian sun.

ALBUM REVIEW: Ghost – Impera


As one cycle ends, another begins. The flamboyant, dancing Cardinal Copia has been anointed Papa Emeritus IV and the plague-ridden doom of the 14th century is gone. Taking place hundreds of years after Prequelle, Tobias Forge and his band of Nameless Ghouls, otherwise known as psychedelic doom rock popsters Ghost, leave the rats behind as latest chapter Impera (Spinefarm/Loma Vista) tells of new empires built from the ashes of the old.

CONCERT REVIEW: Ghost – Volbeat – Twin Temple: Live at The Reno Events Center


With a wave of excitement you could feel in the brisk winter air, fans filed into the Reno Events Center for the first date of the Ghost and Volbeat co-headline tour kickoff show. Ghost had been through town right before the pandemic began, and for a lot of fans I talked to, this was their first show back. Not only is the band a singularly interesting and creative Heavy Metal band, their faithful followers are fast becoming legends on their own for their voracious appetites for all things Ghost. And they didn’t disappoint on this night, many dressed in costumes and churchly garb, as a tribute. Over ten years in existence, the rapport between the band and flock has been inspiring to watch them bloom over time.

Watch Ghost Perform New Songs and Classics at Their Tour Kickoff Date in Reno


Ghost kicked off their new tour of the United States in Reno, Nevada tonight (January 25th, 2022) with Volbeat and Twin Temple. Ghost Cult was in attendance and it was an amazing good time with great music, excellent production value in a good setting at the Reno Events Center. In addition to their many hits, Ghost debuted the appearance of Papa Emeritus IV, seen in his full new costume during “Year Zero,” the live debut of the new steampunk Nameless Ghouls and Ghoulettes, and performed several brand new songs and songs performed for the first time ever including “Imperium,” “Kaisariong,” and their cover of Metallica’s classic “Enter Sandman.” They didn’t not perform their latest single – the just released “Call Me Little Sunshine” from their upcoming new album, Impera (Loma Vista Recordings). Ghost has shared a gameplay video from Iron Maiden’s Legacy of the Beast – the free-to-play mobile game! Following successful collaborations earlier this year with Amon Amarth and Lacuna Coil, Iron Maiden’s Legacy of the Beast has now teamed up with Ghost. Legacy of the Beast has created a new, limited time, in-game event called, Mascarade Diabolique featuring another limited time character, Papa Emeritus IV.

Ghost to Host “Halloween Kills” Movie Showing Tomorrow in Los Angeles


Occult Rockers Ghost have annoucned via social media they will host a special screening of Halloween KJills tomorrow, October 15th, 2021 in Lo Angeles. The bands has yet to reveal the full details, Ghost recently shared a brand new song “Hunter’s Moon.” This is their first new track in two years. Produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by Andy Wallace, is featured in Halloween Kills. The “Halloween Kills” soundtrack is set to arrive October 15 via Sacred Bones, with the film hitting theaters (and Peacock) also on that day. Watch Metallica and Miley Cyrus Perform “Nothing Eles Matters” on The Howard Stern Show


 

Metallica performed its classic song “Nothing Else Matters” with pop star Miley Cyrus on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” yesterday morning (Thursday, September 9). You can watch video of the performance below. Miley’s appearance was in celebration of release of the remastered deluxe box set of Metallica’s self-titled fifth album and also features Elton John, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, frequent collaborator Andrew Watt and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo. Appearing via video link, Elton told Howard his decision to play piano on the star-studded cover was an absolute “no-brainer.” “This is one of the best songs ever written, to me. It’s a song that never gets old. Playing on this track I just couldn’t wait because the chord structure, the melodies, the time changes — it’s got drama written all over it,” he said. Listen to Ghost Cover “Enter Sandman” by Metallica from “The Blacklist Album”


Metallica has shared a previously unreleased cover by Ghost of “Enter Sandman” from the Black Album Blacklist record (Blackened Recordings), out today, September 10th, 2021. This cover is the first official recording from Ghost with frontman Papa Emeritus IV. The Blacklist is a massive tribute album by Pop and Rock stars the world over. Ghost Shares New Music Video for “Life Eternal”


 

Occult rockers Ghost have shared a new video for their song “Life Eternal” from their acclaimed album Prequelle (Loma Vista). The video incorporates videos of fans at the final show of the Tour Named Death world tour which took place on March 3, 2020 — at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico. The band is currently working on a new album, not expected to release before 2022. The next album will feature frontman Tobias forge in his new guise as Papa Emeritus IV replacing Cardinal Copia who was retired in 2020.
