INTERVIEW: Kambodsja Shares Their Thoughts on Musicianship and the Creative Process of “Resilient”


 

Hailing from the city of Drammen in Norway, Kambodsja describe the alignment of their own sounds as indie-prog-punk-metal, with a touch of post-hardcore and math rock. Think of the Swedish legends Refused, but converged altogether with elements of good old ‘70s prog rock as well as influences from a wide range of artists from Manic Street Preachers to And So I Watch You From Afar. Refusing to conform to certain conventional musical dogmas, the sounds that Kambodsja present happen to be ever-transcendent and all-around eclectic; making the creative process of their music not limited to conforming to certain genre boundaries but rather, making it about intricate explorations.

Deftones and Ozzy Osbourne’s Music Were Featured in HBO’s Controversial Series “The Idol”


 

The debut season of “The Idol” on HBO has been controversial for its graphics sex, drugs, and violence toward women Pop music-based series following a pop star and her new manager, who may be a cult leader. The series stars Lilly Rose Depp and Abel “The Weekend” Tesfaye who is the co-creator, and producer of the series as well as music for the show. In episode four of the debut season, a pool party scene featured the Nu-Metal classic “My Own Summer” by Deftones, while a piano rendition of Ozzy Osbourne’s classic Heavy Metal song “Crazy Train” was heard played as a solo piano piece by Hip-Hop Producer Mike Dean (The Weekend, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, Tupac), who is playing himself in the series. The Idol is also co-produced by Sam Levinson of Euphoria with Reza Fahim and also stars Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Ramsey, and Hank Azaria.

Howard Stern launched SiriusXM’s new Miami Studios this week. On Wednesday during SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show live from Miami, Howard Stern was joined by Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood performing three songs live on the air including a cover of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” Making her debut on The Howard Stern Show, the singer talked about her life and career, including the success of her first album, “Some Hearts,” which garnered her three Grammy Awards in 2007 and the distinction of having the best-selling debut of any “American Idol” contestant. The avowed hard rock fan who previously sang with Axl Rose, said she asked permission form Sharon Osbourne to do the cover and Sharon was sweet about it. Watch it now!

Power Trip Festival 2023 Officially Announces Metallica, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Guns N Roses, and Tool as Headliners


 

 

The details and official poster for Power Trip festival, the metal and rock-themed sequel to Desert Trip fest in 2016. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N Roses, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, and Tool will headline the fest. Guns n Roses will headline Friday Night, AC/DC and Ozzy will headline Saturday, and Metallica and Tool will headline the final night of the festival on Sunday. Guns n Roses and Iron Maiden will apparently headline day one of the festival. The Goldenvoice run three-day event will take place Friday, October 6 to Sunday, October 8 at the Empire Polo Club In Indio, California, and will “feature legendary rock heavy performers from the 1970s and 1980s.” Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Ozzy Osbourne all teased the festivals return with similar social media announcements earlier today.
