Gojira Teases Announcement, New Music Likely Incoming

Gojira is teasing something imminent across their social media. The band has actually been working on new music for years, and the expected follow up to 2016’s Ghost Cult AOTY, Magma (Roadrunner) is expected sooner than later. It looks like we’ll be getting some news soon, hopefully, a new single and album announcement. This is the time of year when most of the pivotal fall releases are announced by now or any day now. We’ll report back in this space when we know more! Continue reading

Gojira’s The Link Alive Now Available On Vinyl, Mastodon Tour Looms

the link alive

Listenable Records has made made The Link Alive, the 2004 concert film fromBayonne, FR progressive metal masters Gojira available on vinyl for the first time. The low-key post on Gojira’s home page has links to a special edition collectors Gold 180 Gram vinyl edition as well as a digital download from Listenable’s Bandcamp page. The release celebrates the seminal album The Link, and both the album and the concert film on DVD were only available outside of Europe as an import for many years, despite the reissue of The Link 2007. Gojira embarks on the second leg of their US tour opening for Mastodon, along with Kvelertak starting tomorrow (10/15/14). Although this tour is the same bill from the earlier in the year, it is technically Mastodon’s first headline tour supporting their recent release Once More Around The Sun (Reprise). Gojira is still on the road supporting the Les Enfants Savages, the deluxe CD/DVD/Coffee Table Book released this past spring documenting the bands world tour and consequent date at the Brixton Academy. The band continues is mammoth run of dates following 2012’s amazing L’Enfant Sauvage (Roadrunner) album. They are presently working on the follow-up release, likely due out in 2015.
