ALBUM REVIEW: Necrot – Mortal – Tankcrimes


What’s the best strategy when it comes time to record a follow-up to a critically acclaimed album like 2017’s Blood Offerings? Well, for Necrot it seems as simple as following the course. Yes, that approach on paper does come across a little reductionist and it may imply that Mortal (Tankcrimes) is merely a rehash. But while Necrot may not be reimagining the genre on Mortal they are serving up some of the most satisfying Death Metal today.

Necrot Shares a New Single – “Asleep Forever”


Bay Area death metal/punk trio Necrot today has shared another new single, “Asleep Forever,” from their frother coming new album, Mortal due out August 28th via Tankcrimes Records. Mortal was recorded by Grammy award-winning engineer Greg Wilkinson (High On Fire, Autopsy) and mastered by Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Cattle Decapitation, Mastodon) at West West Side. Most of the pre-orders sold-out quick but hopefully new stock is coming soon. The new record is the followup to the band’s last album, the acclaimed Blood Offerings. Metal Vs Racism Releases Its Second Episode


After making its debut early this week with episode one, Metal Vs. Racism, an online collective of metal musicians has shared their second episode. This episode features Alex Skolnik of Testament, Joel Grind of Toxic Holocaust, Leon De Muerte of Terrorizer, Mike IX of EyeHateGod, Chiyo of Noothgrush, Scotty Peterson of Cryptic Slaughter, Greg Wilkerson of Brainoil/Deathgrave, Rev. Necrot Shares “‘Stench Of Decay” Single, New Album Due Out This Summer


Rising death metal band Necrot will release their new album Mortal via Tankcrimes Records this summer, on August 28th! The band revealed their new single ‘Stench Of Decay’, as well as the tracklisting and artwork (see below). Bloodstock Adds The Nightflight Orchestra, Nekrogoblikon, The Crawling, and More to Thursday Night Pre-Party


Bloodstock Open Air unveiled a slew of new bands recently for the festival proper and now has booked new bands for the Thursday night pre-party! The Nightflight Orchestra, Nekrogoblikon, The Crawling, Raised by Owls, and 2019 Metal 2 The Masses winners for Bournmouths Anakim will all help kick off the weekend. Bloodstock’s 2020 main stage headliners are Devin Townsend (Friday), Behemoth (Saturday), and Judas Priest (Sunday) and also includes Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Skindred, Paradise Lost, Life Of Agony, Black Dahlia Murder, Diamond Head, Jinjer, Vio-Lence, Sacred Reich, Gloryhammer, Dark Tranquility, Butcher Babies, Cattle Decapitation, Bloodywood, Memoriam, Ramage Inc, Green Lung, Bossk, Hatebreed, Bury Tomorrow, Sylosis, Toxic Holocaust, Winterfylleth, Exhumed, and Necrot so far.
