Let’s just face facts, the past year has been grueling. The pandemic affected the human race tremendously, changing life on earth. Musicians, of all genres, have started to release music they made during the shutdown of everything everywhere, and most of it echoes the angst of being on lockdown. Enter Wednesday 13’s newest release, Necrophaze, Antidote (Nuclear Blast). Although the songs were recorded during the recording of Necrophaze (Nuclear Blast), the four tracks were a welcome reprieve from the current melancholy atmosphere of the music industry.
Wednesday 13 will release a new EP this week, April 16th, 2021, Necrophaze – Antidote via Nuclear Blast. The EP contains two new songs and two covers from the shock rocker/industrial metaller including “Devil Inside” by INXS and “Films” by Gary Numan featuring Calico Cooper of Beasto Blanco/Alice Cooper. Necrophaze – Antidote was produced by Devildriver guitarist Mike Sprietzer. Wednesday 13 was inspired by a craving for variety to create dual album artwork for this release. The covers showcase either end of the horror spectrum with a “Creepshow” comic book vibe for the LP artwork, and the eeriness of something akin to John Carpenter’s The Fog adorning the CD.
The anticipation of the crowd was building for the show to begin. This was the moment they had patiently waited for. The final show of the run for The 69 Eyes, Wednesday 13, Sumo Cyco, and special guests the Suicide Puppets would happen here at the Reverb in Reading, PA.Continue reading
