The Recording Academy (a.k.a The Grammy Awards) honored the surviving members of Nirvana and Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson with the Recording Academy’s 2023 lifetime achievement award at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles on February 4th. Other honorees included Bobby McFerrin, Ma Rainey, Nile Rodgers, and Slick Rick. The ceremony – the Special Merit Awards ceremony, was presented the day before the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. The lifetime achievement award is presented by vote of the Recording Academy’s national trustees to performers “who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.” Watch the ceremony now!

Nancy Wilson of Heart Shares New Video for Her Cover Of Pearl Jam’s “Daughter”


Heart’s Nancy Wilson has shared a music video for her cover version of Pearl Jam’s “Daughter”. Directed by Jeremy Danger Pictures, Wilson originally recorded the track for Netflix’s “I Am All Girls”, a South African film that shines a light on human trafficking. The track comes from Willson’s new solo album or originals and covers, “You And Me”, which released on May 7 via Carry On Music.

Korn, Metallica, Mastodon, Billy Corgan to Pay Tribute to Alice In Chains at MoPop Awards Ceremony


Alice In Chains is being honored by Seattle’s MoPop Museum of Pop Culture on December 1st, and the band will be celebrated by a cadre of their peers, as well as hold their first performance of 2020. Korn, Metallica, Mastodon, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction, and Krist Novoselic of Nirvana are among the artists who will take part in virtual tribute performances when AIC is presented with this year’s Museum Of Pop Culture (MoPOP) Founders Award. Almost Famous Movie Cast Reunites for 20th Anniversary Podcast


For a generation of music fans, Almost Famous is the music movie! Chronicling the start of the music journalism career of teenage music journalist William (a stand-in for director Cameron Crowe in a glamourized version of his early life story) and fictitious 1970s rock band Stillwater, Almost Famous had great storytelling, a fantastic cast and an amazing soundtrack, with originals written by Peter Frampton and Nancy Wilson of Heart. The film turns 20 this year and will be celebrated by the entire cast on a podcast series. James Andrew Miller has managed to gather up the entire cast and crew to reunite on his podcast. Almost Famous writer Cameron Crowe will be joining stars alongside Kate Hudson, Patrick Fugit, Billy Crudup, Jimmy Fallon, Zooey Deschanel, Frances McDormand, and Nancy Wilson among others will join.

“There is really a seventies feel to this record both in the sound, and the way we got to the emotional core of each song.
