Linkin Park is Planning to Celebrate 20 Years of “Hybrid Theory” This Year


 

Mike Shinoda says that Linkin Park is planning “something very cool” for the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut album, “Hybrid Theory”. “Hybrid Theory” — the band’s original name before it was changed to Linkin Park for legal reasons — was issued in October 2000 and was a breakout success for the group, which had formed in 1996 and had played the Los Angeles club scene for several years. The album yielded four massive hit singles — “One Step Closer”, “Crawling”, “Papercut” and “In The End” — while going on to sell more than 10 million copies in the U.S. alone.

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda to Release “Dropped Frames Vol. 2” Album Tomorrow

Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park) Releases Video for “Fine”


Iconic Linkin Park co-frontman Mike Shinoda has shared a new official music video for his new single, ‘Fine’. The song is featured on the soundtrack of the film The Blackout, released across Russia on November 21 and in Germany, Austria, and the Baltic States on November 28. Shinoda announced the track release on social media, sharing some of the song’s lyrics on Instagram: “Tell all the children to lock those doors‬ / ‪I’ve seen the smoke in the sky before‬ / ‪Gotta be up on my feet‬ / ‪When the morning comes‬ ‪/ ‘Cause this fight you can’t ignore‬ / Everything is gonna be fine.‬” Mike’s full-length solo album called Post Traumatic dropped in 2018 and was inspired in part by the death of LP singer Chester Bennington in 2017. Two Years Gone: Chester Bennington (1976 – 2017)


Collectively, the world still has a giant heart sized hole in it from the tragic loss of the life and gifts of Chester Charles Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park who committed suicide at age 41, on this day 2017. Said to be despondent over the death of his best friend Chris Cornell from suicide, just a few months earlier, Chester could not escape his own darkness. The voice of his generation, music fans who grew up with LP continue to carry his memory and music daily. LP and Chester’s widow Talinda continue his passion for good works with the One More Light Foundation charity. Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda continues to support his excellent debut solo album, Post -Traumatic. Watch his new music video for the song “I.O.U.” below. Mike Shinoda Says Linkin Park is Not Actively Looking For a Lead Singer


Contradicting a previous report, Mike Shinoda clarified a previous statement and says Linkin Park is not seeking a replacement for Chester Bennington at this time. Bennington died in 2017. He tweeted “Lemme clarify a rumor: we are not looking for a new singer, and if it were to happen organically, I’d be open. Seems pretty clear, yet I guess some folks have a hard time understanding.

“I’m not into predicting the future. The future will happen.

“Stop making shit up.”
