Marilyn Manson has answered allegations from Evan Rachel Wood with charges of “horrific” sexual abuse, grooming and other accusations with a post to his Instagram accounts. Wood shared in her post that Manson “started grooming me when I was a teenager” and “brainwashed and manipulated me into submission..” and she wants “to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives.”Here is what Manson posted on Monday (February 1):
According to a new post at Metal Sucks, actress Evan Rachel Wood (HBO’s Westworld) has formally accused her former partner, Marilyn Manson of years of horrific sexual abuse, via a new post to her Instagram, Wood shared in her post that Manson “started grooming me when I was a teenager” and “brainwashed and manipulated me into submission..” and she wants “to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him before he ruins any more lives.” In 2019, Wood appeared before the California Senate Public Safety committee on behalf of the Phoenix Act, which seeks to create exceptions to the statute of limitations for domestic violence crimes in the state of California. Although Wood testified and shared many stories as part of that testimony, she declined to name her abuser, saying that “They threatened to kill me or have me killed.” Manson has in the past had the support of former wife Dita Von Teese and ex-girlfriend Rose McGowan, two prominent leaders of the #metoo movement. Manson also fired Twiggy Ramierez from his band over similar claims. Others in the music journalism community sought to connect the dots to her former relationship with Manson, whom she didn’t name until today. So far, Manson has declined to comment. We’ll continue to monitor this story for updates.
False has announced their immediate break up following the news they were hit with that a member of their band is the subject of sexual assault allegations, reportedly said to be Jimmy Claypool, according to commenters on their Facebook page, under their announcement post. This is disappointing since False has been one of the greatest USBM bands, during their existence. The statement made it clear that neither the other members of the ban nor their label Gilead Media, were involved or aware of the allegations. We’ll continue to follow this story as it unfolds. It’s clear that the systems we have propped ourselves up on for decades such as government, schools, the church, brutal corporations and other institutions have failed us terribly. So, of course, Otep Shamaya and OTEP come back now with a new album to basically put everyone sucking the love out of this world on blast. Hitting ’em where it hurts verbally and bringing the heavy, Kult 45 (Napalm) is just the antidote if you’ve lost your faith about the future. Continue reading →
