Metallica Adds New Content to Their “Black Box” Archives Project

Metallica has added a ton of new content to their ongoing celebratory archival project, “The Black Box.” The band is touting 53 new “artifacts,” 6 new videos, and 11 new audio enhancements. The Black Box is an online repository the band will focus on for their legacy audio/visul and merch drops, and curated collections from each band member, which you can read all about here.

Watch Fan-Filmed Video from The Second Metallica 40th Anniversary Concert

Metallica played the second of their two 40th anniversary concerts at The Chase Center, in their hometown of San Francisco last night (Sunday, December 18). Right before the band was to start playing, the fire alarm went off in the arena and people started heading for the exits, but everything was back to normal in a few moments. On this night the band played several deep cuts and songs they have not performed in many years, some since their 30th anniversary shows in 2011. Watch fan-filmed footage of the show!
