Lars Ulrich Shares Update on James Hetfield’s Rehab

Lars Ulrich of Metallica has shared an update with USA Today regarding James Hetfield’s condition in a new interview with USA Today. Hetfield is currently in rehab and while he is careful to protect James’s privacy, he gave us some encouraging hope for James’ recovery. Metallica canceled the band’s planned tour of Australia and New Zealand with Slipknot so he could get the help he needes. himself. Metallica to Headline Sonic Temple, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, Welcome To Rockville, and Epicenter Festivals in 2020

Metallica has announced, in conjunction with Danny Wimmer Presents that the band will headline all of their major rock and metal festivals in 2020! In an unprecedented move, the biggest band of all-time will perform two nights of each three-night event, and play totally different sets each night. More details and many more bands to be announced for all of those fests, the first being Epicenter, which is about 203 days away. Other fests include Sonic Temple, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, and Welcome To Rockville. Tickets on sale this Monday, 10/14 at 9 AM PST/ Noon EST.

Watch Robert Trujillo’s (Metallica) Son Tye Play with Suicidal Tendencies

Tye Trujillo, the 15-year-old son of Metallica bassist and former Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves bassist Robert Trujillo, played with ST this weekend at (October 5) at the SoCal Hoedown in San Pedro, California. He was filling in for regular Suicidal Tendencies bassist Ra Diaz who had to miss the gig. Tye has previously toured with Korn as a fill-in bassist. James Hetfield of Metallica Re-Enters Rehab for Addiction, Australia and New Zealand Tour Postponed

In sad news to report, Metallica’s legendary frontman James Hetfield has had to re-enter rehab for addiction. The band has immediately postponed their planned tour of Australia and New Zealand with Slipknot that was to begin next month. The Australian leg of the “WorldWired” tour was announced in March, with the first show of the trek scheduled for October 17 at Perth’s Optus stadium. It was to be the first of eight stadium dates across Australia and New Zealand, including a night at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium and two dates at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium. The tour would have been Metallica’s first to Australia since 2013 and first visit to New Zealand since 2010. Hetfield’s issues with addiction and alcoholism were detailed in the 2004 documentary Some Kind Of Monster. We wish James the best in this trying time for himself, his family, and friends.
