Watch Metallica Play Classics and Deep Cuts at Their Secret Show in Chicago!



Metallica played another surprise concert in a tiny venue compared to their usual arena gigs. They played a “pop-up concert” at The Metro in Chicago Monday night September 20, 2021, which only holds 1000 people. Tickets were announced by text and social media and were sold out in one hour. The tickets sold for just $19.83, a reference to the year 1983, when the band last appeared at Metro. The band played their hometown of San Francisco last thursday at The Independent, which holds a maximum occupancy of 500. Metallica will play a rare intimate show tonight in San Francisco at the Independent. The band texted their fans via a new service and the tickets to the tiny venue, 500 person capacity show sold out in less than 1 hour. It will be one of the smallest Metallica has played in decades. The only promotion of the show besides text was the venue’s Instagram. The band just released The Black Album Remastered Boxed Set and The Black Album Blacklist covers album on September 10th, 2021.

Watch Metallica and Miley Cyrus Perform “Nothing Eles Matters” on The Howard Stern Show


 

Metallica performed its classic song “Nothing Else Matters” with pop star Miley Cyrus on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” yesterday morning (Thursday, September 9). You can watch video of the performance below. Miley’s appearance was in celebration of release of the remastered deluxe box set of Metallica’s self-titled fifth album and also features Elton John, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, frequent collaborator Andrew Watt and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo. Appearing via video link, Elton told Howard his decision to play piano on the star-studded cover was an absolute “no-brainer.” “This is one of the best songs ever written, to me. It’s a song that never gets old. Playing on this track I just couldn’t wait because the chord structure, the melodies, the time changes — it’s got drama written all over it,” he said.
