There is almost no band in history that had a success akin to “The Black Album.” Metallica exploded the band of the same name from the underground and made Rock, Heavy Metal, and yes, even Thrash as mainstream as it was ever going to get for a hot minute. From 1991-1995 Metallica was everywhere on tour, pop radio, MTV, Antarctica, Woodstock 1994 as the headliner, and much more. They were unstoppable. They sold tons of albums when it was only CDs and cassettes. They transformed the culture of underground heavy music and themselves in the process, and you can still feel the ripples in the industry from it. Like it or not, they changed everything.

Metallica Scholars Initiative Expands Into Eight New Schools, Distribute $1.6 Million to 23 Schools



Metallica has announced their collaboration between their All Within My Hands Foundation & American Association Of Community Colleges has grown by eight more schools/recipients to twenty-three total and together they will distribute $1.6 Million dollars to them.

Aftershock Festival Adds the Original Misfits As the New Saturday Night Headliner


 

Aftershock, a festival part of the Danny Wimmer Presents family of events, has announced that The Original Misfits will be the new Saturday Night Headliner, following the departure of My Chemical Romance from the fest due to the pandemic. The original Misfits had booked a slew of arena shows and festival slots in North America from 2018 to 2020. Aftershock also features Metallica as the headliner the other two nights of the fest. Metallica Shares “Of Wolf and Man” Video from “The Black Album” Tour in 1993


 

Metallica has shared a new live performance video of their Metallica (“The Black Album”) cut “Of Wolf and Man” from their headline set at Milton Keynes Bowl in the UK in 1993. Metallica will celebrate 30 years of Metallica this so this may be a tease of a larger rollout that celebrates the biggest selling rock or metal album of all time. According to published reports last year, “The Black Album” still sells thousands of physical copies weekly and the band surpassed One Billion in streams in 2020.
