Bloodstock Open Air (BOA) 2021 here! The festival kicks off today after much planning with sdafety and security in mind, considering the current state of the world. With weekend passes selling out, there might still be a few day tickets left, but check in advance before heading there. Starting today, August 11th -15th at Catton Park, the main stage headliners are Devin Townsend (Friday), Kreator (Saturday), and Judas Priest (Sunday). Dynamo Metalfest 2021 Postponed Until Next Year


 

In a sad development for the European summer festival season, Dynamo Metalfest has been forced to postpone this year’s event to next summer, 21 and 22 of August, You can read the fest’s statement below, with information about rolling over tickets to next year, and if you must, refunds. Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, Limp Bizkit, and More Confirmed for Blue Ridge Rock Festival


Quickly shaping up to be the biggest music festival in the USA this year, Blue Ridge Rock festival has announced their full line-up of 180 bands. Headlining the massive 4 day festival are Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, and Limp Bizkit. There is a special club warm up show which includes headliner Ludacris, T-Pain, and Lil Jon. Also on tap: the Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow Revue, a vaudeville freak show of wonder by Hellzapoppin’s Ringleader and Producer, Mr. Bryce “The Govna” Graves. In addition, excitingly, the festival will be hosted by Steve-O (MTV’s Jackass); and special guest Lou Brutus (SiriusXM). The fest takes place September 9th – 12th at Blue Ridge Amphitheater, a long-awaited large-scale concert venue in Southwest Virginia. Wacken Open Air 2021 is Postponed to 2022


Once again, the grandaddy of the metalfests, Wacken Open Air has had to put off their sold-out festival for the second year in a row, following global conditions resulting from the pandemic. The organizers posted to the website and social media that the festival simply couldn’t take place this year after the German government declared that no massive gatherings, like music festivals, can take place before August 31st. The new dates for the festival are 04.08. – 06.08.2022. In 2019 Wacken had sold out all 75,000 tickets within 24 hours after going on for the 2020 fest. Slipknot, Judas Priest, Amon Amarth, Mercyful Fate, and many others were announced.

Festival Republic Creates The First One-Off “Download Pilot” Camping Festival Next Month


As festivals and tours come back to us after a year in lockdown, more events are opening up daily. As part of The Government’s Scientific Events Research Programme (UK), Festival Republic has announced the first “no restrictions, full-contact” event at this scale in the world so far. Taking place 18-20 June, the 10,000 capacity Three-day Camping Only Test Event will even have moshing. The full lineup is coming this Friday, 28th of May. Initially for the loyal existing Download festival ticket holders.

Slipknot, Faith No More, Megadeth, Lamb of God, $uicide Boy$, Gojira, Trivium and More Booked for Knotfest Iowa 2021


 


As usual, Slipknot does what other bands cannot. The band is bringing back their Knotfest event back home as Knotfest Iowa this September and it features a ton of bands such as The full line-up features Slipknot headlining, with Faith No More, Megadeth, Lamb Of God, $uicide Boy$, Gojira, Trivium, Tech N9ne, FEVER 333, Knocked Loose, Turnstile, Gatecreeper, and Vended. The event will be the biggest heavy music festival to ever hit the mid-western state and will be held at National Balloon Classic Field in Indianola, IA, on Saturday, September 25th. Tickets will be available on pre-sale to Knotfest.com subscribers from 10am Central time on today (Tues, May 25th), with a general on-sale from 10am Central on June 4th, at the link below. Slipknot has also announced they have returned to the studio to record their new album.

Cradle of Filth, Onslaught, Beholder, Ward XVI,and More Booked for Bloodstock 2021


Bloodstock Open Air (BOA) 2021 is a go and is about two and half months out at 85 days until the fest. In addition to adding a stacked extra night on Wednesday, the fest has announced some additions. Replacing Dimmu Borgir, who have vowed to return in 2022, Cradle of Filth joins the madness. Hot on the heels of their stellar livestream even, this promises to be huge. For the Wednesday bill, joining the fest are Onslaught, Beholder, Ward XVI, as well as Raised By Owls, RAISED and Anakim, both move across to a Wednesday slot, from their previously announced Thursday.
