In a message to fans, Machine Head has formally welcomed new members Vogg Kiełtyka and Matt Alston to the band, following their social media announcement this past weekend. Vogg of Decapitated takes over lead guitar and Matt (Devilment, Machine Head tech crew) is the new permanent drummer. Vogg will continue to work on a new Decapitated release and tour dates in 2020. He will operate in both bands. Machine Head will embark next year on the first European leg of the Burn My Eyes 25 Worldtour, featuring the band playing two sets each night. The new lineup will open, performing more recent MH tracks, while the closing set of Burn My Eyes in its entirety will be performed by the band of current members Robb Flynn, Jared McEachern and returning Logan Mader and Chris Kontos.
In a new video on their YouTube Channel, Machine Head have announced their new drummer, Matt Alston. The Colchester, UK-bred drummer is best known for his work with Devilment and Eastern Front, but has been a session and live drummer for countless bands over the last decade. He has also been a tech for the band in recent years. The 31-year-old drummer started playing at eight years old. The band just shared some jam room footage of Alston smashing some tracks. Machine Head is about to embark on the fast selling-out worldwide “Burn My Eyes 25” tour, where a new incarnation of the band will play a modern setlist, while the BME25 lineup closes with a performance of Burn My Eyes (Roadrunner) in its entirety. Welcome, Matt! Continue reading
